Senate Chamber Cheers After Unanimously Passing Rand Paul's Bill Outlawing -- Again! -- Taxpayer Money Being Used to Fund Gain-of-Function Research

Note: Most of what's below comes from Breitbart. I haven't checked them in a while, but they are really thorough about covering all the news.

Now, about the ban on US monies for gain-of-function frankenvirus research -- don't get too excited. They banned this once before.

Fauci wrote himself a national security exemption to the ban.

But officially, it's now against the law to fund gain-of-function research, or will be as soon as the House acts.

As if that will matter one bit to the Deep State, Mad Scientist Division.

Cheers could be heard in the Senate chamber after an amendment introduced by Sen. Rand Paul to ban the funding of gain-of-function research in China was passed unanimously.

"Gain-of-function research, where we take a deadly virus, sometimes much more deadly than COVID, and then we increase its transmissibility to mammals is wrong," Paul said when introducing the amendment. "Any gain-of-function research should not be funded in China with U.S. taxpayer dollars, and I recommend a yes vote."

Paul's amendment was then sent to a voice vote and was approved, eliciting cheers from throughout the chamber.

The amendment comes two weeks after Paul confronted Dr. Anthony Fauci during a Senate hearing, pressing the infectious disease expert on whether the National Institutes of Health was funding gain-of-function research in China.

Fauci continues playing word-games to deny that he sent money to China for gain-of-function experiments.

Rand Paul wants Fauci to testify under oath about that.

Paul warned on Fox News Channel' "America’s Newsroom" that the Wuhan lab is experimenting with the SARS virus, which he argued is "15 times more deadly than COVID-19."

"I think Dr. Fauci should be made to testify under oath about the money that was given to the lab, and the good news is yesterday I passed an amendment on the Senate floor that says no more gain of function money can be sent to China," Paul stated. "This is very important because this could happen again. I mean, they are experimenting with the SARS virus, which is 15 times more deadly than COVID-19. COVID-19 kills 1% -- that's been 3 million people, more than 3 million people. If SARS got out of the lab, that could be 50 million people. So, this is a very important task ahead of us. We have 11 labs in our country that do this kind of research."

"The bottom line is he cannot investigate himself," he added. "He was responsible for giving this money, so he has every incentive to cover it up and not reveal the truth about it because if the pandemic did come from the lab he would have great culpability in this, so he can't be investigating this, nor can any of his people that he picks be investigating this. He needs to be excluded from the investigation."

Rand Paul has recently alleged that Fauci committed perjury in denying he funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Lab.

Paul was asked on Real America's Voice's The Water Cooler show, "do you believe he [Fauci] perjured himself?"

"Absolutely, he lied to the America people. There was gain of function research going on with Dr. Shi Zhengli at the Wuhan Institute," Fauci explained.

In that interview, Paul added meat to the bones of his assertion that the US funded gain-of-function research in China, citing a specific grant for research that added a new protein to the coat of the SARS virus to make it more infectious.

How on earth can that not be gain-of-function?

Several Republicans are demanding that Fauci be fired, proposing the FIRED Act -- Fauci's Incompetence Requires Early Dismissal Act.

Reschenthaler told Fox News on Tuesday:

"He has been wrong, intentionally deceptive, and inconsistent throughout this entire pandemic. A few examples of Fauci's failures include: claiming there was very little risk to Americans in January of 2020, opposing President Trump's China travel ban then crediting it with saving lives, and wrongly predicting an explosion of cases in Texas after Gov. Abbott lifted the state mask mandates."

Fauci also claimed that masks provided no protection against the transmission of the virus, which he later admitted was a lie to make sure that mere civilians didn't buy up the masks.

He later admitted lying about what level of natural immunity plus vaccination was required to reach "heard immunity," to deceive people for their own supposed good.

He's obviously lying to Congress again, and again, I'd imagine, with his Mad Scientist's Conceit that the people are stupid and just don't understand The Science like he does, so he will have to lie to them to achieve a Higher Truth.

Marco Rubio made that charge recently, noting that the CDC and Fauci continue lying to us, claiming complete certainty when in fact they have only guesses and speculations, because they believe that US citizens are "little children who can't be told the truth."

"[I] encourage people to go back about a month and a half at an open intelligence hearing," he said. "I asked the Director of National Intelligence. I said, is it not true that both theories, the lab theory and the naturally-occurring theory, are both equally probable, and we really don't know which one of the two it is, and she answered yes. They're both equally likely, and we don’t know which one it is."

"That was a month ago, but the truth is here's the problem with this," Rubio continued. "Some of the people involved in public health in this country spoke with such a level of certainty about this a year and a half ago, and not just spoke with certainty but basically called anyone who disagreed with them a kook, a conspiracy theorist, a crazy person. And what that does, along with other things that happened from public health officials in the last year, is it undermines the public's confidence in our public health officials and in our public health system."

"And so, what this does in the future, we're going to have other pandemics and other serious public health crises," he added. "People are going to be less likely to listen to them because they’re going to remember how many times they were either lied to or the truth was kept from them because they think the American people are little children who cannot be told the truth."

I've been complaining about this since the Ebola outbreak, when Obama's director of the CDC Tom Friedan on it lied on CNN to Sanjay Gupta and claimed that ebola could not be spread through a sneeze.

The CDC's Ebola happy talk, usually delivered by Director Tom Frieden, was finally exposed on CNN. Dr. Frieden was speaking with CNN's Sanjay Gupta, also a physician, once again to reassure everyone that everything was A-OK. A news anchor asked the doctor to reassure viewers that Ebola wasn't "highly contagious" so as to help the American people "back away from the panic."

Dr. Frieden happily complied, "It's not like the flu, not like the common cold, it requires direct physical contact." Then the anchor chimes in and says, "If he sneezes on you, it's a different story." With that one statement, Dr. Frieden was compelled to admit existing CDC guidelines do warn simply standing within a three-foot radius of someone with Ebola poses a risk of infection.

If these reporters had not forced the discussion, Dr. Frieden would have stuck with his misleading description of the how the virus is communicated.

Now we can put "You must be in direct personal contact with bodily fluids" in the same file as "You can keep your insurance, doctor and hospital" and "It was a YouTube video."

Frieden decided that he didn't want travel quarantines -- or decided to back Obama's political decision not to have them -- so he lied about how ebola is transmitted.

Ebola can be spread by a sneeze, which is considered "direct contact." Obama's guy lied and tried to pretend that a sneeze was a part of "airborne transmission," a path by which ebola is not spread.

In that case, he decided that misleading the public to keep them from demanding a quarantine on visitors from Nigeria was more important than giving them the truth about how ebola was spread.

Sometimes they decide to lie to maximize paranoia and precaution; other times they lie to minimize precaution.

These are not scientific judgments -- they are political ones. And they use lies about "what the science says" to make their political judgments sound like uncontrovertible facts.

And in the current climate of mass censorship: That is the government specifically ordering FaceBook, Google, Youtube, and Twitter to censor anyone disagreeing with this false statement of what the science supposedly says.

These people have a default, automatic move of lying to the public in the interests of projecting an entirely false confidence and of trying to lie the public into doing what the Mad Scientists think, at this moment, is right.

It's time to put a stop to that, and it's time to stop lending credibility to "experts" to whom lying is second nature. And first nature.

These people should be routinely forced to go under oath in Congress and make these false claims in a venue in which a perjury charge is possible. We might suddenly start seeing some expressions of uncertainty and ambiguity and some allowances for differences of opinion -- but only when jailtime for false statements is at least a theoretical possibility.
