Jordan Fuchs, the Media Attention Whore Suspected of Leaking Fake Trump Quotes to Washington Post, Later "Confirmed" Her Own False Quotes to Another Media Outlet

If only we voted harder, huh?

The fake Trump quotes scandal just got more interesting. It appears that Jordan Fuchs, Georgia's deputy secretary of state, was not only the anonymous source of the Washington Post story -- claiming that Trump pressured Georgia election investigator Frances Watson to "find the fraud," and that if she did, she’d be a "national hero" -- but she publicly “confirmed” the story to NBC News on the same day the Washington Post story broke.

CNBC reported the following on January 9, the same day as the Washington Post story:

NBC News has confirmed The Post's characterization of the Dec. 23 call through a source familiar with the conversation.

Georgia's Deputy Secretary of State Jordan Fuchs told NBC News: "We can confirm the events in the Washington Post story."

It is not clear if Fuchs was the source in other media reports that claimed to have confirmed the Washington Post story. USA Today claimed it had confirmed the details of the call from "a Georgia official speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal matters." ABC News said it confirmed the details with "an individual familiar with the matter." However, it does appear Fuchs spoke anonymously to the Washington Post, then publicly to NBC News, in an effort to make the public believe multiple sources within the Georgia secretary of state's office heard Trump say what she claimed he said.

Fuchs was some kind of Washington Post Groupie, a source says.

A bit of background that will make the below easier to understand: There were two leaked phone calls. In one leaked phone call, the actual recording was leaked to the Washington Post.

In another leaked phone call, the recording was put into the "Trash" file and only a fraudulent recapitulation of the call was leaked to the Washington Post.

The Post has outed this woman as having leaked the recording.

Supposedly there's still a question about whether she leaked the fraudulent quotes-- but only in the most technical way.

She did it.

And she might have violated Florida's two-party-consent wiretap law.

Fuchs's involvement in the December 23 incident has led many to assume she was the source of the leaked recording from January 2 as well, also published by the Washington Post. Two sources told TAC that this was, in fact, the case. The only three people on Raffensperger's side of the January 2 call were Raffensperger himself, general counsel Ryan Germany, and Fuchs. Fuchs also had an existing relationship with one of the Post reporters whose byline was on the story.

"She refuses to acknowledge whether she recorded the call on January 2," Mark Rountree, president of Landmark Communications, tells TAC. "That’s what she's hiding from." A second source who works in Georgia politics also identified Fuchs as the source of the January 2 recording.

"She hid from both, but the Washington Post has outed her for the first call. The question now becomes, will they out her in the second call?" Rountree told TAC.

...

Fuchs allegedly told another former Landmark employee that she was traveling to Florida on January 1. Florida is a two-party consent state, so if she is the source of the recording and it was recorded there, she may have violated Florida’s wiretapping law.

Fuchs did not respond to questions about her location that day or whether she was the source of the recording, which were left on read for about 12 hours. Gabriel Sterling also did not respond to the same questions.

“When she worked here, she was obsessed with the Washington Post. You’d walk by her office and on her monitor was the Washington Post, all the time,” Rountree added. “She obsesses about the Post and she feels like people who are not in the Washington Post are not important. She somehow got charmed and obsessed when she worked as an intern in Washington, D.C., for a year. I think she just became enthralled with the idea of dirty politics, going Woodward and Bernstein and Nixon."

And this was an official in a "Republican" office.

We have to purge these people. All of them. Being a "Big Tent" party does not mean you let leftwing Washington Post groupies serve in high elected office.

These people are permitted to vote for the GOP, on the off-chance they ever decide to.

But, like anyone working for National Review or Heritage or any other Conservative, Inc. grift: They must not be permitted to hold any position of leadership in the movement.

"Big Tent" does not mean you let the monkeys run the circus.
