Meet The PetMorons

The Basement Boys, Buddy (top) and Spot, both predict All Fools’ Day, April 1st. These formerly feral foes are shown here praying to the almighty heater for more food. - Bama Bubba

So they are hungry critters? They don't look appear to be suffering from malnutrition. Happy and healthy living the good life. Thanks for your contribution.

trixie side-eyes a magazine (1).jpg

Also, for the next Pet Thread, please find attached a picture of Trixie (the original Schnorflepuppy, because she loves to sit in this chair and lick herself in places where she can't breathe, especially during WebEx meetings), giving the side-eye to a dangerous object which she realizes will become contraband under the Harris{spit} Administration.

Thanks for all your cob contributions! - Schnorflepuppy

A pup sitting next to a magazine is truly a PetMoron. Trixie sounds like a fun pup to have around. Thanks for sharing. And you are welcome.

I don't know if Dusty is a badass. But definitely the king of camouflage. Thanks for your contribution.

Big Poodle - Cross Legs (1).jpg

Hello Misanthropic Humanitarian,

I am an infrequent poster and go by the name of ptleahy; however, I have had a couple of photos of my dog, Big Poodle, posted on the almost world famous Ace of Spades Pet Thread. When the weather gets warmer, Big Poodle enjoys guarding against the squirrel menace in our backyard. Big Poodle also likes to do it with class and style. We are finally coming out of winter in the Pacific Northwest, so he is looking forward to opening up the house.

Thanks for the pet thread, it really makes my weekend.

Well Big Poodle seems to be stylin creature here in this snap shot. We are happy to hear that he continues to keep your casa squirrel free. Thanks for your support.

Wanted to share some pics from the great 2021 Texas freeze. These are at my dad’s farm in Purdon, Tx last month. We worked 9 hard days keeping his babies alive. No sanitation, power or water for most of the time. We lived in my car for several days to keep us warm. Blackie and Sweet Pea are the horses and God willed us to keep them alive. Many cattle and Dallas the pup. I thank the Lord everyday they survived. I had knots in my stomach each morning when we went to check on them that we wouldn’t see anyone laying dead in the pasture ❤️. P.S. I’ll send an update on Mocha, Mindy and Domino. They’re were safe with my husband in The Woodlands, Tx. - Debbie

Fighting cold and snow is a challenge especially if one isn't use to it. No water even makes it tougher. Looks like you folks came through the Global Warming just fine.
As I write this your weather says it is 79. Thanks for sharing an interesting animal story.

winniegreyhound (1).jpg

I know, it's a bit early but what the heck. (User name NR Pax by the way.)

Since Duncan's picture was such a success, I wanted to share pictures of the other two Greyhounds in my pack.

First up is Kraken. He was returned by his first family and had been in foster care for several months as senior dogs are a tougher sell than younger ones. As you can see, he's quite willing to pose for pictures.

And this is Winnie. In addition to fostering, I also do volunteer work to help haul Greyhounds to their foster homes. She was on a haul and I decided that she was actually my dog (After I got the wife's approval.)

You have some nerve submitting photos of mistreated & abused spoiled dogs. It looks like they have the Life of Leisure there at Casa Pax. Thanks for the contribution today.

Hello morons with fur babies.
Long time lurker tghalvorsen here. This is Finnegan, a Silken Windhound. First pic is on our way back from Denver from the breeder, at 10 weeks. You can tell he’s a lover and still thinks he’s a lapdog (with my lovely wife). He’s a great traveler in our RV and is always alert and ready for the next adventure.

Well Finnegan is certainly a cutie. I don't ever recall meeting a Silken Windhound before. It appears he is quite the family member. Thanks for sharing.

Darley pining and whining (1).png

Darley, the grand-dog. Whining at the window: "WTH? My Dad is outside without me?!" Onward, Java Joe

Hard for us to believe that a dog would whine to go outside. Do you believe this Morons or is Java Joe pulling our paw? Great photo, thanks for sharing.

My daughter was puppy sitting eight week old Olive the dog (puppy sitting, what can be bad about doing that?!) for a few days and her cat Ming came up to say hi. As you can see, Olive had not seen a cat up close yet. They did fine after a little get to know each other time. Mike S

Oh my goodness! What a priceless photograph!!! Ming was certainly brave and in your face with Olive. And no there is bad about puppy sitting unless you take it home with you! Thanks for sharing today.

gracie (1).jpg

Hey MisHum! This is a picture of our 4 latest additions to Shep's Place. Top left is Zoey. She just completed her heartworm treatment and is now free to be adopted! She's supposedly 10 but the vet says no way. More like 5 or 6. She's extremely smart and knows many commands. Top right is Gracie a black lab, German Shepherd mix. She's 10 and doesn't know the meaning of personal space! Bottom left is our dear sweet Jenny, the dachshund with many health problems but tons of spunk! She is 12. Lastly is sweet Viola who we just got. Not sure what she is.. a mutt I guess. She's around 9 or 10. Today she was very anxious but she'll settle in soon I'm sure. Thanks!
Jewells

Quite the collage of doggehs there Jewells. Bless you for the work you do. I hope those beautiful creatures all land forever homes in the near future. Thanks for your contribution today.

Dash, Then (1).jpg

Dash, Now (1).jpg

This is Dash, AKA The Best Dog Ever.

My Kids surprised me with Dash back in August of 2012 when I came home from a particularly bad day at work and was in a hurry to tell everyone about it. As I stood there on our chamois-colored hardwood floors regaling my then-Wife and three Kids (5, 13 and 15 at the time) about the day's awfulness, everyone had the goofiest looks on their faces and I couldn't figure out what was up, even though I looked all around me. Turns out this little guy was just sitting right next to me, blending in perfectly with the floor so that I completely overlooked him.

It turns out that Dash's arrival coincided roughly with my departure from the household, as my marriage was on the rocks and I was soon separated and then divorced. Dash was a very welcome addition to the house and he filled in a little bit of the hole that was left by me leaving, especially with my youngest Daughter. Whenever I would come over to pick her up for weekly visitation, never once did Dash miss coming to the door to have me pet him and scratch his ears.

Dash slowly went completely blind over the course of 2016 because of macular degeneration, which I am reliably informed is very common in Labrador Retrievers. Recently Dash has also suffered the indignity of being forced to relearn the layout of a new house, as my ex-Wife moved with my two youngest Kids to NE Florida in October last year to escape the insanity of Communist-governed Seattle.

The move was tough on him, being blind, but he has adapted very well and is thriving as if he was a young pup again. And, he gets to go to the beach about 3 times a week to bite the waves as they come in. As Dash approaches his ninth year, I can think of no better reward than the beach thrice weekly for a hound who is quite clearly The Best Dog Ever. Sharkman

Hopefully your claim of "Best Dog Ever" does not cause fisticuffs and mayhem here today Sharkman. We can certainly tell of your love for this K9. Thanks for sharing what must have been a difficult story to write.

Dear pet morons,

Long-time lurker here, Carlos in California, and the photo shows my five-week-old black female Lab (all Labs matter), Jill. She’s from Raney Ranch Retrievers in Santa Ysabel, California. My brother and I picked her from her litter-mate (I had second choice of black females) and she’s destined for their “Build a Gun Dog” training program. She’s the ground replacement for a wonderful Lab I trained myself, with all the faults you get from a enthusiastic but amateur trainer (me). Used classic book, Water Dog, and the original Jill’s breeding and love of hunting overcame my limitations. The new Jill is a ‘bucket list’ dog and will come home to Redlands, California, as a Started Gun Dog after nine or ten months of training. I’ll complete her training through Finished Gun Dog (hand signals and multiple blind retrieves) with help from the Raneys (breeders/trainersI). I am the primary care provider for a frail, but vibrant parent with limited mobility and we can’t have an untrained puppy underfoot, as charming as puppies are. Thanks for the Pet Thread. I didn’t qualify until yesterday after a gap of thirty-five years.

A couple of observations:
1) Congrats on your new family member after a 35 year wait. The math doesn't add up you only being 29.
2) What a wonderful bucket list to have a started hunting dog. That is cool.
3) She's cute and obviously a keeper, good luck with her over the years.
Thanks for telling us about her.
