Amazon Bans a Book About The Problems of Transgenderism, Because It's Illegal To Discuss the Downsides of Transgenderism

Revolting.

If Amazon, which controls most of the book sales in America, has decided to delist a book with which some of its functionaries disagree, that is an unconscionable assault on free speech. It will have chilling effect on the publishing industry and the free circulation of ideas. It must not be left to stand unchallenged.

Amazon is a monopoly. Our "conservative" leaders have decided that exercising monopoly power to control other markets is not only permissible, but praiseworthy. They believe that we should have free competition, until one company "wins" and becomes a monopoly, and is then permitted to use that monopoly power to quash competition.

That's literally the rules of monopoly in the children's game "Monopoly." In the game Monopoly, you are supposed to create a monopoly and then ruthlessly exploit it, and that's how you win the game.

And that is how the corporate-sponsored "intellectual" class conceives of monopoly. It's just winning the game. Why would we interfere with a Winner's Prerogative?

David French, who has gleefully signed up to be a footsoldier in every deplatforming campaign against his enemies, now seems surprised that deplatforming has come for one of his allies:

French is now claiming that his unprincipled stance on deplatforming -- YAY! if it's against people I don't like, BOO! If it's against people I do like -- is in fact principled.

He claims that the only distinction in his takes is whether or not we're talking about government intervention or not. He claims that he was in favor of the Parler deplatforming only... only because the specter of government intervention was invoked?

That's a lie. He's claiming that he was worried that the Biden administration might attack his Tech Bros political allies to restore Parler?

Nonsense. In all cases, David French can offer either his own support for a corporation's deplatforming, or his criticism. There is no principle that says he has to remain silent on some deplatformings. There is no principle that says he must support some deplatformings, and object to others.

He could be objecting to companies -- particularly those with monopoly power -- using their power to chill free speech on a principled basis, not caring which speech is being quashed.

Instead, he's constantly either supporting deplatformings or whining about them according to whether you're in his tribe of twitter tinydicks or not.

This sniping little hyperemotional cunt is just being as extravagantly unprincipled as usual and just basing his "position" (if you can dignify it as that) on whether he likes you on Twitter or not.
