CNN's "Analyst" and Blubbernecked Roundshouldered Thumb Chris Cilliza Asks, "Why is Trump Calling Riots 'Riots'?"
Even CNN seems to know that this Egg With Legs is a ridiculous, comical little fatman, Hercule Poirot but without the brains or charm.
Because they run a picture of a city engulfed in flames with his story. As if they're trying to embarrass shim. (I don't know the gender of shim.)
Why does Trump claim these riots are riots?
Gee, Chris, it might have to do with the fact that they're Literally on Fire. The photo that runs with your "analysis" confirms as much.
Oh wait, let me correct that per the CNN Styleguide: These cities are mostly peaceful, but fiery.
John Sexton comments:
CNN's Chris Cillizza wrote a pretty amazing piece yesterday in which he accused President Trump of using the work "riot" to mislabel ongoing black lives matter protests as a way of creating a political comeback. It's hard to overstate the stupidity of this argument since the evidence clearly shows that what has been happening in many cities around the country, but especially Portland, are in fact riots. And yet, when I look, it appears that CNN has forbidden the use of this word (riot) in it's news coverage. More on that in a moment. First, let's look at what Cillizza wrote:
To hear Trump and his allies tell it, the situations unfolding in Portland, Oregon, and Kenosha, Wisconsin, in response to several high-profile shootings by the police of Black men is rioting, plain and simple.
..
Trump's efforts to label what is happening in major cities as "riots" speaks at least somewhat to his desperation, politically speaking, at the moment.
Sexton offers a possible explanation for Cillizza's confusion: Perhaps he just gets his news from CNN. Sexton points out that Portland Police have officially declared riots every other day in August -- half of all days were ended with a riot -- but CNN refuses to quote the word from the police statements and consistently substitutes its own word -- "protest."
