Quarantine Cafe: Comic Book Ads and the Crap You Actually Got For Your Money
The one I always wanted was the large vampire bat that you could control with your commands.
Here's part one.
Here's part two.
Here's a video just about the X-Ray Specs you always wanted, and here's one about Sea Monkeys.
With a lot of these ads -- like the Giant Vampire Bat which would supposedly fly and obey my commands -- I knew they must be fake, but spent hours daydreaming ways they could possibly be legit.
The Giant Vampire Bat, like the 7 Foot Tall Ghost, was just a crappy balloon with a picture printed on them, and some fishing wire to drag them around -- this is how you made them "obey your commands." They couldn't even float, not without helium.
There's one particular article I never once wanted because I always assumed it was complete, total bullshit and could not possibly be real.
Skip to here to see that one.
