We will have a fishing thread later. As always, the chess/dress pr0n thread is an open thread, so there is no such thing as an off-topic comment.
Beginner Problem - Black To Play (Chess 4145)
Goal: Black can force mate in 3 moves
Hint: The rook stays put on b2

Here's The New, FIDE-Approved Coronavirus Chessboard:

Intermediate Problem - White To Play (1116)
White is in check. How can he get out of check and stop the advanced h-pawn from queening, thus securing a win?
Hint: Simplify!

The Coldest Game: A Movie What Got Chess In It:
I haven't seen it yet, but it looks interesting.
And according to this article, the chess shown is, get this, real positions from real games, so the scriptwriters did their homework. None of this "'Check.' 'No, checkmate!'" crapola. Or the board is set up incorrectly. That's one of my favorites.
Advanced Problem - Black To Play (1114)
Black can win this game. There are several lines of forced checkmate, depending on how White responds at certain points. Show the lines you find. Which line is the longest? In other words, if White responds with the *best* moves, how long can he hold out?
Goal: Can you find the forced mate in 9? That's the longest line I've found.
6k1/1b3p2/p2p2p1/1p4qp/3br3/1QP5/P1R2NBP/4RK2 b - - 0 1
Yes, technically White is down the exchange, but he started out ahead in material. The only problem is the very advanced a-pawn.
2. Rb1!
This is perhaps the hardest movie to see. It both prevents the queening of the pawn and sets up the Black king for a bishop fork.
2...Kxb1
Pretty much forced.
3. Bg6 h1=Q
4. Bxe4+ Qxe4+
If 4...Kb2 then 5.Bxh1 Ka3 6.a5 and Black won't be able to catch the pawn.
5. Kxe4 and wins
Advanced Problem - Black To Play
6k1/1b3p2/p2p2p1/1p4qp/3br3/1QP5/P1R2NBP/4RK2 b - - 0 1
1...Qxg2+
2.Kxg2 Rxe1+
Moving the king out of check results in an early demise:
3.Kh3 Re3+ 4.Kh4 Bf6#
Or:
3.Kg3 Rg1+ 4.Kh4 Bf6+ 5.Kh3 Bc8+ 6.Ng4 Bxg4#
So the best move for White to stop the check is:
3.Ne4
3...Bxe4+
4.Kg3
If 4.Kh3? then Re3+ 5.Kh4 Bf6#
4...Rg1+
5.Rg2 Rxg2+
6.Kh3
Not 6.Kf4? Rg4#
6...Rg1
7.cxd4 g5
8.Qc2 Bxc2
9.d5 Bf5#
Hope to see you all next week!

Note: that cryptic line of letters and numbers you see underneath each board diagram is a representation of the position in what is known as "Forsyth-Edwards Notation", or F.E.N. It's actually readable by humans. Most computer applications nowadays can read FEN, so those of you who may want to study the position, you can copy the line of FEN and paste into your chess app and it should automatically recreate the position on its display board. Or, Windows users can just "triple click" on it and the entire line will be highlighted so you can copy and paste it into your chess app.
