Disney Fills Its Premiere Audience With Friendly Media and Outright Shills, But Star Wars Gets Negative Reviews Anyway

Although the premiere got some positive reviews as well, the hand-picked audience of carefully-screened pro-Disney critics gave the movie a lot of mixed to outright negative reviews.

And these people are generally the sort of "You Go Girl" fake movie critics who routinely push crap like Dark Fate and Batwoman up to 90% critics ratings.

But they're very mixed on this piece of crap.

Mike Ryan of Uproxx:

STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER is certainly the most convoluted Star Wars. There is a lot I liked, but the first half gets so bogged down with exposition and new plot and doodads and beacons and transmitters, it feels like it should have been three movies on its own.

My favorite Star Wars are the ones that take their time and focus on the characters. The whole first half felt like all exposition. It does get better. And Lando rules. But there’s just so much plot it feels so rushed. And the Emperor stuff is so weird.

I had a dream that I dreamt this movie and was like "whew." Now I’m awake and bummed out again.

Eric Eisenberg of CinemaBlend:

There is good in Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker. But there is more that is disappointing. There are a number of choices that just don't track, fan service that doesn't work, and ignored details that are missed. I'm bummed.

Scott Mendelsohn of Forbes is a reliable Disney Corporate Shill who has been very fond of the theory that the audience is to blame for not liking Disney Star Wars movies. I guess he'll have to blame himself now:

At worst, I expected #TheRiseOfSkywalker to be a well made movie that I didn't like or whose story choices I disagreed with. I was not expecting a genuinely bad movie with video game plotting, thin characters, weak action and endless exposition of no consequence. Heartbreaking...

John Campea is a figure of fun for being a kneejerk Disney apologist. But...

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker reaction - There are a few big great moments, and I'm sure a lot of people are going to love this movie. Unfortunately, I'm just not one of them. Hopefully I'll like it a little bit more after I see it again tomorrow.

Disney has a way to make this film a surefire success, though: They're marketing the film as recommended for "promoting gender equality."

And that keeps working for all of these #Woke remakes!

More: I forgot, the Shill Neoliberal Establishment media has repeatedly claimed that the public's rejection of The Last Jedi was due to... Russian trolls.

Here's CNN's Brian Lowry making that claim:

Johnson said then -- and more recently in a GQ interview -- that such voices represent a small subset of the overall pool. Still, writing in Esquire last year, Matt Miller lamented that a "loud section" of "Star Wars" fans have become "tragically synonymous" with hate and bigotry.

A study by Morten Bay, a research fellow at USC's Annenberg School for Communication, examined social media and found "evidence of deliberate, organized political influence measures disguised as fan arguments" about "The Last Jedi," in much the way outside elements have sought to further polarize political discourse.

As Rich from Red Letter Media might say: "Star Wars has AAAAAIIIIDDDDSSS...!"
