Poll: Trump Gains On Democrat Challengers

The poll still shows Trump losing to Biden, but, of course, there was a 99.85% chance of Hillary Clinton beating Trump in 2016.

So I'm thinking this understates Trump's support.

And the more people see of Joe Biden, the less they like him.

I expect that trend to continue until he drops out of the race for health or cognitive-function reasons.

In the Morning Consult-Politico poll, Biden's lead over Trump slipped to 11 points, down from 20 points in the same poll from last month.

The poll shows a growing strength for the president in a match-up against Biden, currently the Democratic 2020 front-runner, as Trump previously trailed Biden by as much as 28 points in a Morning Consult-Politico poll in June.

In particular, his lead nationally among independents has all but disappeared, evaporating from an 11-point lead among the group of voters in June to just a 1-point lead today.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) now only leads Trump by 2 percentage points in a hypothetical match-up gauged by the poll, down from an 8-point lead in June, while Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) trails the president by 1 point in her own head-to-head contest, unchanged from last month's poll.

Via Twitchy, which reports on another poll, by Suffolk, that puts Trump ahead (within margin of error) of any generic Democrat candidate.

* In our 17 target states, President Trump's approval has increased by 3 points since Pelosi announced this charade.

* The President's sky-high favorability among Republicans has actually increased, as well.

More Americans Want Joe Biden Investigated Than President Trump

* By a 5-point margin, more voters would like Joe and Hunter Biden investigated for their business dealings in Ukraine than support holding hearings to consider impeachment of President Trump.

* Since March, Joe Biden's image has taken a 31-point hit among Independents. A strong majority now view him unfavorably.

Impeachment Not Popular In Target States

* In our 17 target states, voters oppose Democrats' efforts to remove President Trump from office by a 14-point margin.

* Their support for hearings has dropped since the beginning of October.

* 70% believe this is "all politics" and would prefer Congressional Democrats focus on issues like health care, trade, and the economy.

Impeachment Not Popular Among Independents

* Independent voters nationally oppose Democrats' efforts to remove President Trump from office by a 13-point margin.
