Deadspin "Writers" Outraged That They Were Told to "Stick to Sports" Resign En Masse

They resigned "en masse"?

Does that mean they voluntarily cut the fat?

On Monday, the journalists at the freewheeling website Deadspin were instructed by its owners to stick to sports. On Tuesday, the site's interim editor in chief, Barry Petchesky, was fired for refusing to obey that order. On Wednesday many longtime staff members quit in protest, hurling Deadspin into chaos.

At least eight Deadspin journalists announced their resignations on Twitter, casting doubt on the future of one of the most popular digital properties owned by G/O Media six months after a private equity firm bought the company for an undisclosed price.

The decision to leave the publication could not have been easy. Jobs are hard to come by in an industry that has gone through hard times. Newspapers have struggled for more than a decade, especially in small towns and midsize cities, and the digital news operations that sprang up in their wake have also shown signs of distress.

Deadspin's xister site, Kotaku-- which is supposedly about video games, but, just like Deadspin, is about almost nothing but strident and low-IQ progressive identity politics clickbait and rage-harvesting -- was also told to stick to their actual subject matter, and they also joined Deadspin in protesting.

One of their (ahem) top writers indicates that future employment at Kotaku may be iffy:

By the way, a former Deadspin writer, who quit earlier, admitted, basically, that they ignore their subject matter and instead contrive progressive identity politics woke-chum for the money -- because, she admitted, identity politics clickbait gets at least twice the clicks as real stories.

So they can all take their bullshit about principles and join the NeverTrumpers in their welfare lines/newsletter funding application lines.

As Ethan Van Sciver said about SJWs whining about being fired: "I think these people can go starve to death."
