The only virtue to this move, found by my app, is that it stretches it out to a 5 move mate. Both of the other lines are 4 or less:

B: (1...Kf7 2.Qxh7+ Ke8 3.Qg8#)

2.Qxd8 f4
3.Qf6+ Kd7
4.Qd6+
