The Morning Report - 1/15/19Good morning kids. Tuesday and for the first time in a long time we have the Mueller witch hunt/inquisition up front, since it appears that at long last the late Whitey Bulger's long-time confederate might be issuing his final report, which will reveal absolutely nothing of any consequence. That said, this entire thing was concocted both to smear and drag down President Trump to force him to either resign or pave the way for his removal from office, and at least as significant if not more so, as a gigantic coverup for the greatest political crime and abuse of power in American history. The intelligence and law enforcement communities at the behest of or with the approval of the previous administration up to and including the ex-president himself and former secretary of state abused their power as a means to sabotage the candidacy of Donald Trump (and probably any other contender in the 2016 GOP field) and failing that to sabotage his presidency. Honestly, I have written that last paragraph in one form or another, with only slight variations of the wording, for almost two years and I'm sick to death of it. Mostly sick because of its implications and of the stark reality that anyone with two eyes to see and at least two brain cells to rub together it clearly demonstrates regarding the rule of law and the shattering of trust in people and institutions we blindly held in them. Rush Limbaugh yesterday lamented that all of this, despite the revelations that there is no there there and that there never has been, cost the GOP the House in the midterms and dupe an alarmingly large number of Americans into thinking that Russia, either with the willing help of Trump or because Trump was a blithering idiot, stole the 2016 election. I'm slightly more optimistic than Rush about this. We have a lot to be thankful for with this President. And one of the things is by his mere presence exposing all of this to more and more people whose opinion of the media along with much of Congress is at an all time low, while Trump's approval runs high; probably much higher than the polling numbers indicate since those outfits are part and parcel by and large of the Democrat-Media Complex. While I agree that a lie is halfway around the world before the truth gets its pants on, ultimately the truth will out. What happens after that is anyone's guess. I accepted a long time ago that Obama, Clinton, Comey, Brennan, Holder and all the rest are never going to face real justice. But I guess I have to be content with at least the election of Trump throwing a giant monkey wrench into the socialist-globalist enterprise. And Brexit (such as it is/was), the Yellow Vest movement, Eastern Europe's rejection of the EU and a resurgent anti-Marxist movement in South America are positive signs as well. The government shutdown over Democrat refusal to fund border security and the border wall continues. Along with a good piece by Daniel Horowitz dovetailing nicely with Ace's post yesterday evening about a shutdown being good for Americans, we have investigative journalist (I refuse to call her "far-right-wing" or "extremist") Laura Loomer led a group of illegal aliens, believe it or not, over the wall of Nancy Palsi's palatial estate to prove a point and illustrate the latter's hypocrisy, even Obama's former ICE chief points out the dangers of MS-13 having nothing between them and us, and the new Dem head of the House Homeland Security committee sez there will be no bill to abolish ICE. To politics in general where with all the absolute hideous rhetoric from the leadership of the political left about "whiteness" and "white privilege" and "white racism" the GOP in its infinite wisdom is throwing Steve King under the bus for trying to point out the hypocrisy of the left by asking what's bad about the terms white nationalist and white supremacist. I think I know what he was trying to do and maybe it came off as a bit ham-fisted, but the way he is being treated - now stripped of committee assignments by Kevin McCarthy - is disgusting. The Democrat Party openly embraces actual anti-semites, anti-Christians, bigots, racialists and other brazen hate mongers (see just the link about Rancida T-Labia for starters). And for the sin of trying to point it out, perhaps in a clumsy way (and I would not even go that far), Steve King is to be otherized. I'm sure it's just a coincidence that Steve King is one of the highest rated real conservatives still extant in the GOP. Elsewhere, Trump serves up good eats for college football champs and gets roasted, Georgia Democrats refuse to recognize they couldn't steal the governorship fair and square, lock up your daughters - Bernardo Sandersnista is staffing up for 2020, Al Sharptone (not a racist or Joo-Hater at all) wants the 2020 Dems to kiss his manhole cover (phrasing!) medallion before he endorses anyone, a cautious look at polling and Conrad Black with some advice for PDT. First Amendment and Fake News Fakery: in defense of Steve King, media pimps click-bait about Rand Paul's going to Canada for an operation, good news about courts upholding religious freedom, the San Diego TV station accuses the AP of fake news over CNN not airing their pro-wall views, Jeffrey Lord on the attempt to silence Tu-Ca, Twitter acts as Pakistan's sharia police, Christian Toto on Facebook's censoring of a Roe v. Wade flick, and the Media's ultimate failure in pimping the Russia collusion hoax. Guns: Daniel Greenfield exposes a real POS Chicago Alderman who fancies himself as the next Nano-Nanny Bloomberg. Foreign Desk: Mike Pompeo confabs with the Saudis on a wide range of issues, Maduro calls Bolsonaro literally Hitler, a look at Bolsonaro's market reforms in Brazil, Chi-Com dystopia and Michael Ledeen tries reading the Iranian tea leaves and laments that our intel can't. We-All-Slam-For-I-Slam: Durham, NC still hates Joo-cooties, Malaysia really hates Joo-cooties, and Phyllis Chesler on the brave Saudi teen who rejected the space-rock-pedophile-death-cult and now will forever have a target on her back. Domestic Affairs: SCOTUS rejects a challenge to Trump's Acting AG ahead of the Barr hearings, the Fake Frog and the Deep State, Minnesota union has to pay back dues to a police employee, the Michigan Housing Authority ends a quota system and an unpleasant look at prison rape-rape in light of the whole criminal justice reform thing. The Economy: Yay, gridlock!, the wages of secularism and a good follow on piece to the alarming news of the decline of the white birth rate (is that racist?) vis a vis the cost of having kids is too damn high, and what it means societally. Church Sex Abuse Scandal: Whistleblower calls on McCarrick to repent. Healthcare: Obama-appointed hack-in-black flips the bird to Trump and sez birth control is a human right that the taxpayer must fund, and this opioid epidemic is for real. Red-Greens: Paul Krugman loves him that Ocasio-TacoRosado "green new deal." Hither and Yon: The Gosnell movie is a smash on Amazon even before the DVD is released, on the death of community in America (hint: the decline of churches), and finally Angelo Codevilla on the corruption of the church for political ends. Something about taking a time-honored institution, killing it, gutting it, wearing the carcass as a skin suit and demanding respect? Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.
