How Much Privilege Do You Have?
Via PJMedia, a test to find out your "Intesectionality Score," that is, how many of the preferred boxes you check.
The more preferred boxes you check, the less privileged you are. Which makes no sense but that's where we are now.
I played with the Wealth slider. It basically accounts for 4-5 possible points, from extreme wealth to extreme poverty. On the other hand, being white dropped me 14 points right from jump street.
Turns out I'm more privileged than 80% of the world. And to be honest, I think they lowballed it. I'm fucking awesome, if I'm being honest.
It's really stupid but you probably can't help take it.
Related: Student groups are now saying women should be called by the non-word letter-clusterfuck "womxn."
No, I'm not missing vowels at the end. Social Justice laughs at your outdated views of word formation.
The ever-changing rules about inclusivity strike again.
Last week, two London student groups -- one at King’s College and the other at Goldsmiths, University of London -- vowed to start using "womxn" in replace of "women" in communications. The move is meant to promote inclusivity, even if using the "word” in official posts looks ridiculous. For example, the Goldsmiths Students' Union published a Facebook post on November 20 referring to two school sporting events.
"Why not give our Womxn's Basketball session or Adidas Womxn's Fun Run a go later on today?" the post asked, according to the Evening Standard. "Womxn's yoga" has also been promoted, the Standard wrote.
A spokeswoman (spokeswomxn?) for the university told the Standard the new spelling "is used to demonstrate our commitment to inclusiveness. No student has complained about its use."
Will this catch on? Well, maybe not: Some NPCs are arguing that this new NPC term is itself... Racist. And transphobic.
I think.
You're going to have to read the article. I don't understand what the Crazy People are shrieking about today.
