Noted Antisemite and Obama Pal Louis Farrakhan Embarks on "Solidarity" Trip to Iran;
Leads "Death to America" Chant

Isn't this lovely.

Nation of Islam leader and prominent antisemite Louis Farrakhan led chants of "Death to America" and claimed that "America has never been a democracy" on Sunday during a solidarity trip to Iran, ahead of the re-implementation of US sanctions on the country this week.

According to Iran’s semi-official state news agency Mehr, Farrakhan said at a meeting with the Secretary of Iran's Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei that America is conspiring against Iran.

"I understand how the enemies have plotted against the Iranian people and I would like to stay alongside you to stop their plots," he said.

I wonder which "plotting enemies" this antisemite might mean.

Farrakhan has referred to Jews as the "synagogue of Satan."

In addition, he stated that African-Americans are part of Iran's Islamic revolution.

According to Iranian news outlets, including Tasnim News Agency and Islamic Republic of Iran News Network (IRINN), he also spoke to students at the University of Tehran law school and fulminated against Israel, praised women's rights in Iran and the Islamic laws demanding they cover themselves. He claimed, "America has never been a democracy and has always leaned towards the wealthy and powerful class."

At the end of his talk, Farrakhan led the chanting of the common Iranian refrains "Death to Israel" and "Death to America," and was joined by members of the audience.

Recently, a photograph surfaced of former President Barack Obama meeting with Farrakhan in 2005 while he was a senator.

Video of the chant at the link, though it's in Iranian, and I can only rely on the Algemeiner's word that "Malk bar" or whatever they're saying means "Death to America."

Well, looking it up, it does appear those are the first two words in the "Death to America" chant:

Death to America (Persian: [persian characters omitted]‎ Marg bar Amrika) is an anti-American political slogan and chant which has been in use in Iran since the inception of the Iranian Revolution in 1979. Ayatollah Khomeini, the first leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, popularized the term.
