Chuck Grassley Refers Michael Avennati for a Criminal Investigation Into the False Claims He Presented to Congress

He claimed Julie Swetnick would make one set of claims, but she quickly recanted and made a much weaker set of claims.

Someone seems to be lying here.

Chairman Chuck Grassley (R–Iowa) would like the feds to determine whether Swetnick and Avenatti engaged in a conspiracy to make false sexual misconduct allegations about Brett Kavanaugh during his Supreme Court confirmation hearings.

"While the Committee was in the middle of its extensive investigation of the late-breaking sexual-assault allegations made by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh, Avenatti publicized his client's allegations of drug- and alcohol-fueled gang rapes in the 1980s," said Grassley in the statement. "The obvious, subsequent contradictions along with the suspicious timing of the allegations necessitate a criminal investigation by the Justice Department."

[I]t's not hard to see why Grassley decided to take this step: Swetnick subsequently contradicted her sworn statements about Kavanaugh's alleged misbehavior when she discussed the matter with NBC News.

As I wrote at the time, Swetnick jumbled the timeline of her decision to come forward, changed her mind about whether she actually saw Kavanaugh spiking girls' drinks, and could not state that Kavanaugh was involved in her own assault. Swetnick provided names of people she believed would back up her account, but these leads did not pan out--alleged witnesses either couldn't be reached, or didn't remember Swetnick at all.

#basta, Mikey. And #vaffanculo.

There's more: NBC knew about all this, of course -- this information that proved that Avennati was playing games with the truth -- but they, being a DNC propaganda arm and not a news organization, held this information secret, in hopes, one imagines, that his lies would be enough to tank Kavanaugh, so why upset any applecarts?

Chuck Todd is asking this now -- but NBC News had all of this information, and could likewise have asked this, before the Kavanaugh hearings.

Instead, NBC kept quiet. Like they kept quiet about Harvey Weinstein and Matt Lauer.

That's not the only case of the media burying bad news about Michael Avennati when he was useful to the Democrats, but now revealing it now that they want to force his exit from the 2020 race.

On June 25th, Michael Avennati declared that the nominee for the Democrat Party in 2020 must be a white man. That's a poisonous claim to make in the Racist, It's Not Okay to be White Democrat Party.

But Michael Avennati was still considered a possibly good Democrat candidate in June, and, later, still could help tank the Kavanaugh nomination.

So now that TIME has gotten word from their Democrat masters that Avennati is no longer helpful to The Cause and should be Forcibly Exited from presidential contention, TIME reveals its long-suppressed "Only White Men Should Run for President" quote:
