The Morning Rant

"I'm watching Thursday Night Football and there's a Gillette commercial that featured Seattle Seahawks rookie linebacker Shaquem Griffin. For those of you who don't know, he's only got one hand, because the other one was amputated when Griffin was 4 years old due to a congenital birth defect. And yet, he's made it to the NFL. What a remarkable talent. And what a great decision by Gillette to associate him with their products. Contrast this with Nike, who chose poorly. They went with Colin Kaepernick, who is remarkable only for being a world-class douchebag who insisted on dragging his personal political opinions into football even though nobody cared. So, I ask you, what role model do you think is better for our children? A player who spends his entire life working hard to overcome his physical challenges to achieve success, or a spoiled, entitled, narcissistic asshole who shits on everything that enabled him to get what he has. But of course the good part of all of this, is that Griffin has a starting position with an NFL team, while Colin Kaepernick does not."
