In Paris, Man on Terror Watch-List Shouts "Allahu Akbar" and Stabs Mother and Sister to Death

But this isn't being treated as an act of terrorism.

A man armed with "several knives" killed his mother and sister and seriously injured another woman in a town near Paris on Thursday, officials said.

The man, who police said had been on a terror watch list since 2016, was later shot and killed after confronting police in Trappes.

He also stabbed a third victim, a female passerby, who was gravely injured in the attack. France's interior minister Gerard Collomb told reporters the attacker had "serious psychiatric problems", and said the attack was not being treated as terrorism.

Despite providing no evidence, the Islamic State group claimed the attack via its propaganda channel.

The attacker, 36, reportedly shouted "Allahu Akbar" during the rampage, and was shot dead by police after the assault in a residential street.

To be honest, I think maybe it's not terrorism. This guy, who was recently divorced and living with his mother, might have been doing what some guys do when they're depressed over a wife leaving them: decided to go out in a murder-nova, killing family members and then committing suicide.

He didn't actually commit suicide per se, but he does seem to have committed suicide by cop, threatening to "blow them away" even though he apparently was only armed with knives, thus guaranteeing that they would kill him.

So I think this might be a terrorist-friendly killer -- he had previously praised terrorism, thus getting him on the watch list -- who would up committing murder and suicide-by-cop because he was emotionally depressed over being alone.
