AoSHQ Pet Thread [KT]

copilotdog.jpg

Good Afternoon! Take a break and relax for a while in the world of animals. This isn't the almost world famous Ace of Spades Pet Thread, but while Misanthropic Humanitarian is struggling to extricate himself from an alternate dimension, The Horde is stepping in with some great content.

The deeply philosophical photo above is from long-time lurker, occasional poster Scientist Captain:

Not actually my pet, but I saw this vehicle in Salt Lake City, and thought it would be appropriate for the Pet Thread. You have to look closely...

Pet Tattoos?

I have had some pets who were very difficult to photograph satisfactorily. Perhaps you have, too. Think about this before committing to a pet tattoo. How much harder must it be to capture the personality of a pet on skin? Here are some bad pet tattoos. Some of them are worse than others.

PetMorons

We got to see his furbabies, but we didn't get to meet The Invisible Hand's Grand Baby (that's what his wife calls her, anyway) last week. Kiwi is a rescued Vizsla who followed his stepdaughter home from a Costa Rican dump where she hung out, by trotting after his stepdaughter's car.

She's legal, with papers . . .

What an extraordinarily smart move for a dog to make! And what an exotic background Kiwi has. Here she is looking a little more ready for action than Darla. We saw Darla last week when she was fully awake.

Let Sleeping PetMorons Lie

Antisocialist describes her wonderful companion like this:

This is Cheyenne - classy, classy Cheyenne. I guess it's a testament to how calm she is that she'll flop over and go to sleep like this!

cheyensleeps.jpg

She smiles while she's asleep! Looks like she would probably get along with our niece's dog, Rocky. Someone made the following sexist comment about this photo of him:

Like manspreading, but way cuter.

I feel a yawn coming on.

PetMorons Ready to Sail

From Hillary4Prison:

Oh, I do love Saturday's on Ace's site so I can see everyone's pets. Here are my papillons doing what they love - sailing. Papillons are not a well known breed - they are loving, happy little dogs without the attitude of a chihuahua. Happiest with their humans, playful and great entertainment.

First pupper is Scooter - a 12 year old Papillon/Chihuahua mix who we rescued 9 years ago. He's an absolute love and snuggles with everyone, even if he just met you. He walks up and down the docks getting held at every boat party.

scooter2.jpg

Second pupper is Lexi - a 6 1/2 year old Papillon. She is seldom without her signature ball and is always happy and kissy.

lexi2.jpeg

Last picture is them together - they love each other, snuggle together and are not often far apart.

Papillon is French for "butterfly". Those charming ears look like maybe they could help sail a boat if you pointed the dogs in the right direction. But here's a mascot for those two: a butterfly that sails on the breeze. A Pale Swallowtail. Learn how to attract them in today's Gardening Thread, below this thread.

Finally a kitty! From DR. WTF:

Below is a picture of our cat "Tau" (that's his fancy name) Mrs. WTF calls him "Boobers" and I call him little buddy. He's a 3 year old Rag Doll breed. He is the best cat we've ever owned - even tempered and loving. I have to say that I have quite a few tooth and claw scars on my arms from him. We play and he gets rambunctious with me. He just licks my wife.

I love that photo! Why can't I take a pet photo like that?

If you would like to send information and/or photos for the Pet Thread while Misanthropic Humanitarian is otherwise occupied, the address is:

ktinthegarden
at g mail dot com

No need to send photos if you sent them to Misanthropic Humanitarian in early August. He'll be posting those photos upon his return.

Have a great weekend. Give your pets a special pet from us.
