The Morning Rant: J.V. Edition
America was the end result of a centuries-long filtering process that left insufficiently brave, motivated, entrepreneurial, hard working people to the vicissitudes of European life. There is a reason we left and they stayed, and I would prefer that we keep it that way. Much of the world's bounty is a result of the greatness of American Exceptionalism, and to dismiss it as an artifact or to demean it as merely a birthright is to insult the millions of people who sacrificed and sweated and bled and died to create the United States.
What a toad. He lives in a fine suburb, firmly ensconced in the ivory tower, where ignorant star-struck undergraduates worship at his feet. His greatest triumph is to impress 18-year-olds whose primary goal is to bang the hot chick in the third row of his lecture hall.
Maybe if he had any inkling of what it means to absorb third-world scum into his expensive town I would take him more seriously.

Nikki Haley Pummels UN Human Rights Council
"For too long the human rights council has been a protector of human rights abusers and a cesspool of political bias," Haley said, adding that calls from the U.S. for the council to reform have not been heeded. "The world’s most inhumane regimes continue to escape scrutiny, and the council continues politicizing and scapegoating of countries with positive human rights records in an attempt to distract from the abusers in their ranks."

The First Burger Built by a Robot Is About to Hit the Bay Area
$15 entry-level, unskilled labor? Hah! And let's not pretend that hand-made fast-food burgers are any better. The reason they are relatively cheap and fast is that the production process is quite efficient, and based on low skill, low wage labor. Economics says that when low skill labor becomes expensive, alternatives appear. This is not rocket surgery, but apparently they don't teach Econ 1 any more.
