Kelly Sadler, Trump Aide Who Made "Dying" Remark About John McCain, Fired from White House

I think this remark was leaked to engineer just this outcome. Might not even have been ideological -- just more infighting among the queen bees jockeying for power.

The White House confirmed Tuesday evening that the aide who joked about John McCain's death is out.

"Kelly Sadler is no longer employed within the Executive Office of the President," White House Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah said.

However, whether Mrs. Sadler was ousted for her comment about Mr. McCain or some other matter remained a mystery.

CNN had first reported Tuesday afternoon that Mrs. Sadler "no longer works in the administration."

People make dark jokes and dark observations in private all the time. The story I hear -- which may be spin, or might not be -- is that Sadler was specifically responding in a discussion about whether or not Trump and his team should respond to McCain's latest sabotage of the GOP (I think, maybe, his objection to Gina Haspel). Sadler, the story goes, said something like "I don't think we need to respond at all, he's dying after all," which isn't a "joke" so much as a fact and an appropriate conclusion based off that fact.

In any event, given that the outrage is over this statement reaching the ears of McCain's family and upsetting them -- obviously Kelly Sadler did not intend this remark to ever be heard by Cindy or Meghan McCain. Only one person was willing to upset the family of a dying man in that way -- the leaker herself.

Why isn't she being fired?
