IG Report Expected to Fault FBI Leadership For Sitting on Email Investigation in 2016
Apparently the AP has a "glimpse" of the report. I guess it leaked. This link is actually to FoxNews.
The report is said to criticize Comey and, get this, Andrew McCabe for sitting on information about the Hillary emails discovered on the pedophile Anthony Weiner's laptop, and waiting a month to get a warrant to examine them.
A highly anticipated report from the Justice Department's internal watchdog reportedly is expected to hit FBI leaders for moving too slowly to review a batch of Hillary Clinton emails discovered toward the end of the 2016 presidential campaign.
Offering a glimpse at the contents of the closely held inspector general review, The Associated Press cited people familiar with the findings in reporting Monday that the investigation would criticize the bureau for its handling of that incident.
...
Some FBI officials, like then-Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, knew as early as September 2016 of the emails, but the bureau did not obtain a warrant to review them until the following month.
The IG report, which is examining a broad range of FBI actions during the email investigation, is expected to criticize officials, including Comey, for not moving fast enough to examine the email trove and for a weeks long delay in getting a warrant, sources told the AP.
...
There are suspicions about whether there was an effort to delay pursuing those Clinton files. The Washington Post first reported in January that Horowitz was investigating whether McCabe wanted to avoid taking action on the laptop findings until after the presidential election.
Ironically, given that Comey was just set to say that nothing new was in that trove of emails, despite finding them on the unsecure computer of a known sexter and pedophile who was, therefore, highly susceptible to kompromat himself, McCabe could have avoided any impact on the election had he acted promptly and whitewashed it sooner, when it first came to his attention.
I actually don't think it had a big impact on the election -- remember, Comey once again cleared her, as is his habit/as was his orders, almost immediately after announcing a brief re-opening of the case.
However, if it had any impact on the election, obviously there would have been less impact if McCabe and Comey had investigated the Sexter's Stash of Emails when they became known to them in September, instead of delaying it until October.
