Trump Demands Rosenstein, Wray Investigate Any "Irregularities" in "Tactics" Used by the DOJ Against the Trump Campaign

This seems to be a clarification of his original order: He doesn't just want a report on crimes, but on irregularities, deviations in protocol or accepted practices which may not be criminal but nevertheless are a deviation from routine.

Oh, and he also wants to review this allegedly too-dangerous-to-be-revealed-to-Congress information himself. (Or rather, by his Chief of Staff John Kelly.)

A friend points out that the White House put this out immediately itself, instead of waiting for Rosenstein or his pals to start leaking their version of it.

I have to make a point about the Deep State simultaneously leaking all biographical details necessary to identify the spy as Stefan Halper (or someone who just happens to share every key biographical detail with Stefan Halper) while also claiming that to leak his name would put a trusted undercover NOC in grave danger.

The leaks are either authorized by someone high up at Justice -- someone on the level of Rosenstein or even Sessions -- spat out to give a Modified Limited Hang-Out to friendly media forces, or they are unauthorized, and therefore criminal, leaks.

I hope Trump told Rosenstein and FBI Director Wray the following:

Either these leaks are authorized or unauthorized.

If they are authorized leaks, then you are simultaneously telling me the name is too sensitive to release, while releasing information to your media friends that all but confirm the name. In which case, you are liars, and you are protecting this name not to defend national security but to stop further inquiry (such as asking when Halper was asked to begin spying, and who asked him to spy, and on what authority or pretext), and I therefore demand your resignations by tomorrow morning.

If they are unauthorized leaks, then, by your own claims, someone has leaked out dangerous information that can literally result in the death of a highly confidential NOC operator, in which case I want you to open a full and fulsome investigation to find these leakers of sensitive NatSec information, and then prosecute them, and then jail them.

If you are not doing that already, then you are liars regarding the sensitivity of this name, and this probably was an authorized leak (or at least a tolerated leak), and in that case, I want your resignations by tomorrow morning.

This name cannot be so serious a natsec secret that the Top-Secret-clearance House Permanent Select Intelligence Committee cannot have it, and yet simultaneously so LOL No Big Deal that high ranking DOJ sources can leak everything about this guy except his name to the Washington Post, the New York Times, and CNN.

These contradictory claims amount to a lie -- there is a lie somewhere in here, on one end or the other, or maybe on both ends, and the officials at the DOJ refusing to give Congress information about this spy are therefore lying to both Congress and the President they ostensibly served and therefore should be fired for cause.
