Jake Tapper Falsely Claims Scooter Libby "Leaked" Noted Anti-Semite Conspiracy Theorist Valerie Plame's Name to Press; Refuses to Correct

First, I wonder: If Jake Tapper is now so down on leaking, are there any highly-placed former Obama officials, like maybe someone with a last name who rhymes with his own, he'd like to denounce for leaking highly confidential national security information to him...?

Second: Read this for a recap on the Scooter Libby matter.

Libby was only convicted -- of perjury, not leaking; Fitzpatrick could not even get an indictment for leaking -- because Fitzpatrick misled Judith Miller about the facts of the matter and so elicited from her what she now calls "false" testimony in the prosecution of Libby. She recanted her testimony in 2015.

I'm not surprised leftist Jake Tapper doesn't know this -- his CNN buddies sure didn't devote much coverage. They wanted to keep their treasured memories of "Fitzmas."

Miller's assertions, which I wrote about last week in a Wall Street Journal op-ed, are fascinating--and important. In a more extensive online-only essay, I reexamined the entire trial and concluded that Fitzgerald's theory of the case was fundamentally flawed and that his unscrupulous conduct was not limited to withholding exculpatory evidence from Miller and the defense; I believe it extended to other prosecution witnesses as well. I also reviewed "The Stor"” for RCP.

Although I had no illusions that my interest would be matched by the left-liberal media, I did expect that Miller's claims about giving false testimony--and the consequent corruption of the jury verdict that found Libby guilty of obstruction of justice, making a false statement, and perjury--would spark at least a few days of debate. Perhaps I gave the establishment media too much credit.

...

The writer then notes that media reviews dealt with Judith Miller's explosive revelations about being tricked into false testimony curiously -- by kinda-sorta not mentioning it at all, thus keeping this information from spreading. (More people read book reviews than the books themselves, of course.

Eric Wemple, for example, didn't mention this entire part of the book in his review -- leading this author to question whether he'd actually read it to the end.

Why else would Wemple choose not to write about Miller's stunning disclosure that Libby lawyer Joseph Tate told her, "Fitzgerald had twice offered to drop all charges against Libby if his client would 'deliver' Cheney to him"?

...

By acknowledging her mistaken testimony in the Libby trial, Judith Miller has given the left-liberal media an opportunity to correct the profoundly flawed account it promulgated of Patrick Fitzgerald’s prosecution of Scooter Libby. The early indications at the New York Times and the Washington Post are not heartening. We could use more journalists with the guts and the integrity that Miller has displayed in setting the record straight.

And Jake Tapper -- who likes to preen about his courage and righteousness while displaying very little of said advertised qualities, kind of a miniature yapping terrier version of James Comey -- is not one of those people.

This recap of the piece at Commentary explains that Scooter Libby couldn't have "leaked" the notorious anti-semitic conspiracy theorist Valerie Plame's name because it had already been leaked by Colin Powell's flunkie Richard Armitage. It came up in a conversation with reporters, including Tim Russert and Judith Miller, only because Tim Russert brought it up -- he'd seen an embargoed copy of Richard Novak's column disclosing Richard Armitage's leak. The column was not yet published, but was available to journalists to gossip about privately.

And no one needed to confirm the name, either: A guy at the CIA had already done that, and so too had Karl Rove.

When Libby was asked about it, he said something like "I'm surprised you know about that."

But you can't leak something that Tim Russert already knows has been leaked and confirmed by a second source. The journalistic fact is already known. There's nothing left to "leak." You can offer your reactions on it, your take on it, etc., but you can't offer up the information itself. That's already been offered by someone else.

(Oh, and Fitzpatrick couldn't prove that Valerie Plame's status was covert, either. She was, as many on the right said, a known, overt analyst of the CIA. Not any kind of behind-the-lines superspy. She did what no covert spy would do, every day: She drove her car right into CIA headquarters at Langley.)

But Jake Tapper just keeps doubling down that.

He claims that in closing argument Fitzpatrick referenced Libby supposedly talking about Valerie Plame. But that doesn't mean he "leaked" it -- that horse done already fled the barn.

He refused to mention Valerie Plame's anti-semitic outbursts on his show, of course. I remember, back when I used to think I could possibly persuade this former spokesman for Handgun Control, Inc. and former Salon reporter to report actual news on his show, asking him when he would ever mention Valerie Plame's claim that the Jews start all of the wars.

I think he did the Jake Tapper Special -- maybe some desultory mention on his Twitter account. But a mention on his actual news program on CNN?

Nope!

All leftists cocksuckers, such as Jake Tapper, have fond, fond memories of Patrick Fitzgerald's political prosecution of Scooter Libby, and they won't clearly state Libby never leaked Plame's name (reporters already knew it) and they sure the hell won't report that the Super Spy they used to White Knight for so damn hard was not only not a Super Spy but an anti-semitic crank who had a pretty good idea of who the real bad guys were in the Middle East. (Hint: The Jews, in her expert analysis.)

Jake Tapper sucks all the cock. Not just some of the cock. Not just this cock or that cock.

No, Jake Tapper sucks all of the cock.

And frankly far too many people on the right give him a pass on his infinite cocksuckery.

Because some people on the nominal right are much, much too flattered by the many hours he spends doing his own PR, sliding into people's DMs to give his reasons why he couldn't report this or that, or that he asked Barack Obama one single tough question with no follow-up back in 2010, or whatever.

The guy fucking sits on his Twitter account all day attempting to flatter and spin critics.

Don't take it as actual flattery. It's just that this pissant spends an awful lot of time on the internet, and doesn't apparently have much else to do.
