The Morning Report 3/6/18

herflake-1.jpg

Good morning kids. Tuesday's here and we'll try something a bit different going forward; pulling one of the links that perhaps otherwise might get lost in the sauce and give it a bit of a spotlight. The issue is immigration policy but more broadly the hijacking, really, of our legitimate legislative process by a rogue judiciary in service to the dismantling of the republic and a GOP all too willing to go along with it. The erudite Daniel Horowitz pulls no punches:

Justice Robert Jackson, the great champion of due process and the dissenter in the Korematsu case, said that "due process does not invest any alien with a right to enter the United States, nor confer on those admitted the right to remain against the national will" (Shaughnessy v. Mezei, 1953).

This conclusion reigned supreme in our body politic and the court system from the founding of our country... Even as they were concocting one BS right after another for Americans, they all understood the concept of national sovereignty - that courts cannot create rights for aliens to immigrate or remain in the country against the national will. This is reflected in an uninterrupted stream of caselaw that has been regarded as the most settled area of law.

Yet here we are, on March 5, when the president promised to terminate Obama's illegal amnesty, and the citizenry of this country is now forced against our will to accept foreign nationals into our society.

Go read the whole thing. While we're on the subject of immigration and amnesty, a judge in of all places Maryland has ruled that PDT's plan to end DACA is absolutely legal. Although it does not supersede Justice Hawaiian Punch Macadamia, it does provide a powerful weapon for when this case makes it up to SCOTUS. Sadly, what I just wrote also perfectly underscores the insanity of Marbury vs Madison and where so much went tits-up in its wake.

Moving along to gun control, we have further confirmation of Obama's insane social engineering that greased the skids for the Parkland massacre, a 20-year-old is suing Dick's Sporting Goods for not selling him a rifle (too bad he's not a homo and Dick's isn't a Christian bakery), an interesting piece highlighting the Dem-Left's hypocrisy about concealed carry reciprocity and Fake Flake really is a smarmy, tyrannical turd. It's kind of amazing that someone who has been utterly rejected and humiliated lacks the common courtesy to just skulk off into the sunset but persists in whoring for the cameras, like a bronzed Rupert Pupkin. He almost makes Son-of-a-Postage Stamp look rational by comparison. Jeff, flake off already.

In the Mueller witch hunt circus, this Sam Nunberg guy, an ex-aide in the Trump campaign, is a whole lot of noise IMHO. In any case the President has ramped up the rhetoric and now has openly accused Obama of wrongfully investigating him, while more and more proof of the Clintons being entangled with the Russians and financing the illegal spying on PDT comes to light. Not that this matters one whit to Mueller.

On the domestic front, perhaps the threats of tariffs on steel and aluminum were just a gambit by PDT to renegotiate a more favorable NAFTA deal. Related, American Thinker has an expose on Peter Navarro, PDT's tariff guru, being a pretty wacko environmentalist. Not good. On the political front, it's a ball of confusion with reports of the Democrats imploding and fighting amongst themselves over who controls the party, the Maoists or the Stalinists, as the coffers are emptied. Juxtapose that with reports that even seemingly safe GOP seats may be heavily challenged in November.

On the international front, Nikki Haley hit it out of the park at AIPAC, and the anti-globalist, anti-EU populists in Italy just won big in the country's national elections.

Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.
