The Children's Crusade: CNN Continues Round-the-Clock Reportage About Teenagers Demanding Action on Gun Control
Triumph of the Shrill.
Have you seen all the high school kids on cable TV recently, especially on CNN? Students of the Florida school where a mass shooting took place last week have become the new face of the gun control movement and news networks and activists are eating it up.
The push has been explicitly partisan. Student Cameron Kasky told anchor Anderson Cooper Friday, "Everything '’ve heard where we can’t do anything and this is just out of our hands--it's inevitable, I think that’s a facade that the GOP is putting up." He continued, "I think that that’s what they want us to think. I think that after every shooting the NRA sends them a memo saying send your thoughts and prayers. Say let’s not talk about this now. Say this happens."
CNN’s favorite face may be Emma Gonzalez. She’s been highlighted on the CNN homepage several days in a row. This weekend she gave a lengthy gun control speech at a vigil and CNN published video of the entire speech on YouTube and offered readers a full transcript on their website. Here’s a sample:
Every single person up here today, all these people should be home grieving. But instead we are up here standing together because if all our government and President can do is send thoughts and prayers, then it's time for victims to be the change that we need to see.
See Sexton's post: He makes an interesting catch. CNN runs gun control talking points as "news," then these same talking points make it into the mouths of the Child Crusaders, and then CNN now runs the Children Crusaders repeating CNN's talking points as new news, this time out of the mouths of babes.
And this is just too rich: A CNN "reporter" actually bothered to go through the dumpster outside the offices of some of the indicted Russian Twitter Trollz, looking for the evidence that will finally crack this case wide open.
"This is the office in which that atmosphere of chaos was stoked from the Russian side," Chance told guest host Jim Sciutto. "That's why 13 Russian individuals, including the financial benefactor, the person who bankrolls that organization, have now been indicted in the Unite States."
"You looked through the trash there?" Sciutto shot back. "What did you find?"
"Yes, we did," Chance answered with his tail between his legs. "We came here expecting this office to be empty, but, in fact, all day here, we've been here throughout the course of the day, people have been going in and out."
Video of that very silly exchange at the link.
And say -- isn't it time we gave tweens the right to vote?
