Slap the word "science" onto something and a lot of people (including me sometimes) have a reflexive assumption that there is actual, real study behind it. Peer reviewed articles describing statistically significant research that has been replicated by independent researchers.

But what if that isn't the case? We have seen it already with the voodoo climate science that the Left is trying to foist upon the world. The intersection of politics and supposedly impartial study is a dangerous thing, and this article makes the case that we have another AGW fiasco on our hands, but this time it's putting people in prison.

What If Forensic Science Isn’t Really Science?

Law enforcement borrowed terms from science, establishing crime “laboratories” staffed by forensic “scientists” who announced “theories” cloaked in their own specialized jargon. But forensic “science” focused on inventing clever ways to solve cases and win convictions; it was never about forming theories and testing them according to basic scientific standards. By adopting the trappings of science, the forensic disciplines co-opted its authority while abandoning its methods.
