Sunday Gun Thread: Striker-Fire Edition (With Additional Fashion Content)
I'm in the market for a 9mm pistol, because the only one I have is a surplus Astra 600, which is a horrorshow of ergonomics, and to top it off has a miserable kick.
And I am intrigued by the new generation of striker-fired pistols, in particular the H&K VP9, which fits my hand really nicely. I am not so thrilled with the lack of a decocker, which to me seems weird. The H&K USP I have has a great decocker that is in the perfect position to make decocking effortless and intuitive. That means I can fire, decock and reholster safely. How does one do that with the striker-fired pistols?
Regardless, many of them were nice, although I was expecting to like the Sig P320, but hated it! It has a weird ledge for the thumb that made it uncomfortable for me.
Below the fold is another pistol that piqued my interest, although I have to find a gun store that has one.
Why are most .22 pistols designed with 10 round magazines? That's really obnoxious. I have a Colt .22 from the mid-1990s, and it is loads of fun to shoot, but man oh man, I hate loading those magazines. There is a ton of room in the butt, so that can't be the issue. Is it the difficulty of stacking .22 rounds, or a relic of competition, or aliens?

Anyone ever get a hot cartridge down their shirt or lodged between their shooting glasses and their nose or temple or brow?
I have a nice little burn on my chest from a .40S&W cartridge that got past my zipped up sweater! The worst part by far was having to stand there, feeling it burn and smelling the sizzle of burned flesh while I decocked the pistol and placed it on the bench, ....(not really, but it hurt).
