The Morning Report 1/16/18
Good morning kids. First up is the continued fallout over DACA and Amnesty, primarily as regarding the immediate political ramifications of same. As the "shithole" controversy continue to swirl, it IMHO both obfuscates as well as underscores both the lethal effects of unchained migration on the nation as well as the President's positions and style. Despite his billions, Donald Trump is essentially a plain speaking blue collar guy from Queens. He tells it like it is, whether or not as "Dicky" Durbin claims he hurled an epithet at Haiti and the other countries in question.
No matter, the Dems think they are going to both be able to stick Trump and the GOP with the blame for a government shutdown over DACA as well as use it to ride to victory in the midterms and beyond. My gut is they are sadly (for them) mistaken.
In other news, Rush went on an extended rant about the false armageddon alert in Hawaii and he rightly points out that this was not an innocent mistake by merely an incompetent boob who pushed the wrong button. To send out an alert like this would have to have been a premeditated act. When you think about the ramifications of that, it's pretty damn frightening. Then again, look who is populating the highest levels of our national security and law enforcement agencies.
Lastly I'll leave you with a few pieces that reflect on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. whose birthday we rightly celebrated yesterday. Like everything else good and decent, once the Left gets its filthy claws on it, it's corrupted and twisted and used as a weapon to silence people, or worse. Yet, as I may have mentioned yesterday, Dr. King's core beliefs are now completely out of step with mainstream leftist thought. When the Left is about punishing white, Judeo-Christian America, content of character over color of skin is criminal thought. I wonder how long before Black Lives Matter and Antifa call for the re-renaming of every Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in every inner city in the nation. Wouldn't that be ironic, nein? He must be rolling in his grave, as are the Founders I'm sure.
Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.
