Flake Flakes: Arizona's Second Most Famous RINO/Liberal Senator Won't Seek Re-Election
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Unfortunately, he'll serve out the rest of his term until 2018.
Condemning the nastiness of Republican politics in the era of President Donald Trump, Sen. Jeff Flake on Tuesday announced he will serve out the remainder of his term but will not seek re-election in 2018.
...
Flake, one of the Senate's more prominent critics of President Donald Trump, has been struggling in the polls.
He told The Arizona Republic ahead of his announcement that he has become convinced "there may not be a place for a Republican like me in the current Republican climate or the current Republican Party."
He says he could not win the nomination without espousing positions he doesn't believe in, like border security.
Why not? It's the standard GOPe playbook for election years.
Maybe he just means it wouldn't work this time.
If you can bear it, you can listen to this limpwristed agent of the Corporate Class whine about degredation.
I think that calculated lies are pretty degrading. Ask your amigo John "Build the Dang Fence" about that.
By the way, this isn't just "Trumpian Populists" at work to make his re-nomination a dicey proposition. He's generally disliked.
Alas, the easy blog content gods giveth, and the easy blog content gods taketh away: Kid Rock announces he will not run for Senate.
Ritchie told "The Howard Stern" radio show that he will definitely not be running for Senate after being mostly silent for months.
"Fudge no I'm not running for Senate, are you fudgining kidding me? Who couldn't figure that out? So that settles that," Ritchie told Stern, when asked if he would be running for U.S. Senate in Michigan.
Narrator from A Christmas Story: But he didn't say "fudge"...
Update: How unpopular was #FakeRepublican Flake?
This unpopular:
That's from August, but I can't imagine Mario Rubo's campaign swing for him got him out of that ditch.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders says this flakey little squish made the right call:
