The Morning Report 10/13/17

GOPnever.jpg

Good morning kids. The weekend's here and lots to mull over, so let's dive right in. First up is the President's two-fisted slam against Obamacare; twin executive orders that allow purchase of insurance across state lines and the end of subsidies to the insurance companies. What can be done with a pen and a phone can be just as easily undone with one as well. My take on this is that if we are going to be denied a straight repeal of this evil edict, much of what was kept afloat during Obama's Reign of Error by illegal executive order waivers and payoffs that essentially crafted law from the Oval Office, then President Trump can undo it with an executive order and in the process, pave the way for free market reforms, if not en masse then incrementally. Many will argue that this will only cause turmoil in the market before winding up in the courts. To which I say, exactly! By the time it does reach SCOTUS, the changes in the marketplace, which I foresee as positive (please G-d) will have already relieved the American people to such an extent, that any attempt to undo it would be political suicide - and that is exactly the tactic Obama and his minions used on us post-2010. Suck on it, Obama.

It's a shame that we couldn't just repeal this garbage cleanly, but if this is what the GOP wants, then so be it. War. And that leads me to tax reform where there are rumblings that John McStain, bitterly clinging to this mortal coil just to spite the nation, will yet again vote no as he did on the repeal kabukkake theater. Dear Lord, make him and Corker go away, please.

As the Iran nuke sellout deadline approaches, a couple of things worth noting. From what I understand (and correct me if I am wrong), if PDT votes to decertify the deal, then it goes back to the Senate for a ratification vote. I assume PDT will veto this, but there are reports that H.R. Puffn'McMustard is pulling out all the stops to save the deal and let Iran get its nukes. Huh. And this leads into another issue bubbling under the surface - the talk of the 25th amendment. For those unaware, it allows the cabinet to remove a sitting present if they find him mentally unfit to serve. Now normally, this would be a non-starter but considering that his cabinet contains a significant number of slaves of the Deep State, it kind of has me on edge a bit. The departure of Steve Bannon looms even larger, in this regard. Maybe he is more effective helping PDT outside the administration than from within.

On a positive note, and this is all PDT's doing, the US has left UNESCO. Hallelujah! That UN agency has long been an epicenter of America-, Joo- and Western Civilization-hate almost since its inception. Bravo! While he's at it, PDT should just pull us out of the UN entirely. Short of that, dump Rexxon and make Nikki Haley Secretary of State.

Lastly, there is an interesting piece from Frontpagemag, which is the sermon given by a prominent Atlanta rabbi on Yom Kippur. We often discuss and try to ponder why, of all peoples, Jews are such strident Leftists. The answers are manifold as to historical, cultural and sociological reasons why American Judaism has strayed so far away from its precepts. But what I will leave you with is hope that perhaps that the scales are falling from the eyes of some Jews at least:

America has done more uplifting of humanity and promotion of freedom than any other country in the history of this planet. We Jews have been blessed beyond our wildest fantasies, enjoying her gifts, her bounty, her grace but we must step away from what is happening and not be seduced by a deceitful, pandering mirage. The Left is not our friend, not as Americans and not as Jews.

Freedom courses through our blood. It throbs in our soul.

It is no accident that on the Liberty Bell are written the words from our Torah, "Ukratem dror ba'aretz" ("Proclaim liberty throughout the land and to all the inhabitants thereof"). The treasure that is America and the poetry that is Judaism are joined together in a hallowed union that rang across spacious skies, fruited plains and majestic purple mountains.

We are good folks and must see beyond the moral bankruptcy, the hypocrisy, the lies, the hatred and the calamity of an ascendant Left.

My friends, Charlottesville is the price of freedom and squaw is a real word.

You'll have to read it in its entirety to get the "squaw" reference, but this is a keeper and send it to all your friends who have even a scintilla of an open mind. Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.
