Your Tuesday Night Time Waster [Warden]

Here's a new minor obsession I have: Finding songs I know on YouTube with the vocals isolated.

I don't know where these tracks come from or how they came to appear on the internet, but it's a rabbit hole I've enjoyed tunneling down into.

The thing is, some songs aren't all that interesting when you hear only the vocal track. Others, you start to hear things you never knew were there. Or at least I do.
I tend to favor great harmonies myself. Below the fold, I'm going to list a few tracks I thought were interesting and/or impressive.

This one is as good as any place to start. A perfect blend of comedy and pure vocal brilliance. I can't figure out how it even occurs to David Lee Roth to make these sounds, much less pull them off.

Not much here that took me by surprise, but I love Sting's voice stripped out from the rest of the music and harmonies are superb.

Freddy Mercury and David Bowie. What more do you want? Stick with it until the end.

I don't think Eddie Vedder is a technically sound singer, but I've always dug his odd style.

Cheesy hair band music aside, Jon Bon Jovi could sing his ass off in his time.

I've always found the lyrics to this song to be laughably sappy, but the harmonies i n this are so good that it's a better song done acapella.

There's no one better than Steve Perry.

Falsetto anyone?

And finally, the best scream every recorded at :50. That's Bruce Dickinson. I used to think that scream was electronically enhanced. Nope. Blows away Roger Daltrey's scream in Won't Get Fooled, which is pretty awesome in its own right. But it's not even close.
