MSNBC Gun Expert: Gun Rights People Argue Against Banning Silencers Because Hunters Use Them So the Deer Can't Hear Them
Perfect.
He goes on to rebut this famous argument offered in support of suppressors by saying that hunters were able to hunt deer for centuries before the invention of suppressors.
"Sportsmen, hunters would make an argument that they need that so that their target, whether it's a deer, etc. don’t hear the shot," Gomez claimed, "but numerous other sportsmen have shot from muskets–when the founding fathers started the Second Amendment--up until now successfully killed game animals without the use of a silencer."
I like how he made up a completely stupid argument no one has ever made in the history of forever and then rebutted that stupid argument with a stupid snarky rejoinder to the stupid thing he said.
Sometimes when I'm hunting deer, I use ninja stars to silently take down their sentries.
BTW, I think the idea when you're hunting deer is to actually hit the thing in the heart, so it doesn't matter what he hears or what he doesn't. And I'm pretty sure the decisive period where deer's hearing is important is as you're setting up the shot or even approaching the deer.
When you pull the trigger, you either have a wounded or dead deer, or a deer in full flight. A deer that gets spooked by a bird suddenly taking to wing is not going to just going to take a wait and see attitude when he hears any shot, suppressed or not.
Artist's conception of Special Agent Gomez hunting deer
Now if you think that's stupid, check out this very well-crafted visual pun by the Politico scribbler.
Makes you think, huh?
I like the political cartoonists who are so shitty at drawing they have to label everything with text.
By the way, this entire prog paroxysm over the idea that Congress is voting to repeal the law this week against suppressors?
It's #FakeNews. They just made it up to give themselves something to shriek about on Twitter.
The press is at its worst in the hours immediately following a mass shooting.
Rumors get credibility-garnering airtime and speculation is reported as fact as reporters and pundits allow their passions to trump their better judgment.
On Monday, for example, certain journalists claimed Congress is set to vote this week on the Sportsmen Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act, which includes a provision that would loosen federal restrictions on gun suppressors. Considering that the supposed vote would likely take place just days after a gunman opened fire at a music festival in Clarke County, Nevada, killing 58 and injuring hundreds more, reporters' palpable disgust made sense.
The only problem here is that the House has no plans to address H.R.3668 this week, and it never did. The story is a total fabrication.
Oh, and of course, Brian Williams really pushed gun control today.
And this tool "reporter" admitted he can't report objectively on guns:
Hero of the Fuckboi Twitter-Clique "Right" Jake Tapper also decided to stop reporting, and start wishing for liberal Democrat agenda items:
Open thread. I'm done for the night, unless any big news breaks. Hope you all have lovely evenings!
