The Morning Report 6/30/17
Good morning, kids. As we close out the week and the first half of 2017, our top stories this morning center on immigration. On the plus side, the House yesterday passed two bills, one Kate's Law, named after Kate Steinle who was shot and killed by an illegal alien two years ago tomorrow, and the other a bill cracking down on so-called "sanctuary cities, a judge in Houston did his duty and revoked the citizenship of a criminal sex offender, and the temporary travel ban finally went into effect yesterday with only token protests from the usual gang of stooges. On the down side, Texas and nine other states are threatening to take the Federal government to court if it does not end DACA.
Also of note are lone voices of justified protest in a sea of silence; Chuck Grassley is probably the only one in the GOP to be yelling about Andrew McCabe's glaring conflict of interest and Maria Bartiromo is the only one with the figurative balls to confront Clinton henchman John Podesta about his real and criminal ties to Russia, to which the always classy Podesta responded by shrieking at her to STFU.
And of course, what would a Morning Report be without Maxine Waters displaying her intelligence and charm? Have a safe and wonderful 4th of July holiday, come back with all your limbs intact, read the Declaration (and weep silently, considering the state of the nation) and enjoy. Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.
