Report: Comey Told Congress in Non-Public Testimony About 2nd Meeting With Loretta Lynch, In Which She Obstructed Justice
Actually she used a "steely silence" and body language to indicate she didn't ever want to hear about her tarmac meeting with Bill Clinton, but as we now know, Comey is an expert in divining intent to obstruct justice from body language.
John Solomon and Sara Carter from Circa:
Comey told lawmakers in the close door session that he raised his concern with the attorney general that she had created a conflict of interest by meeting with Clinton’s husband, the former President Bill Clinton, on an airport tarmac while the investigation was ongoing.
During the conversation, Comey told lawmakers he confronted Lynch with a highly sensitive piece of evidence, a communication between two political figures that suggested Lynch had agreed to put the kibosh on any prosecution of Clinton.
Comey said "the attorney general looked at the document then looked up with a steely silence that lasted for some time, then asked him if he had any other business with her and if not that he should leave her office," said one source who was briefed.
Comey "took that interaction and the fact she had met with Bill Clinton as enough reason to decide he would not allow the Justice Department to decide the fate of the case and instead would go public" with his own assessment that the FBI could not prove Mrs. Clinton intended to violate the law when she transmitted classified information through her private email and therefore should not be criminally charged. Another source said the "tarmac meeting was the public excuse for not going to Lynch when all along there was other evidence that was more concerning to Comey."
The Democratic Front Group we call the media has been pushing the claim -- based on, get this, unverified gossip from anonymous leakers -- that this email indicating that Lynch would stop any investigation before it got too far along was fake and (get this!) likely a Russian hoax, but Lindsey Graham says that Comey has never called the email fake:
Sen. Lindsey Graham tells 'Face The Nation' host John Dickerson that in his classified testimony, former FBI director James Comey never said that alleged documents proving collusion between the Clinton campaign and Barack Obama's Justice Department was fake, and that Russia might still have copies.
The story has been floating around Washington that James Comey made the decision to go public with the FBI's information about the Clinton email scandal because he was aware that the Russians might have a document implicating Attorney General Loretta Lynch in inappropriate communications with the Clinton campaign. It has since been argued by the Clinton campaign that this document is a forgery (meaning that Comey acted on a piece of Russian propaganda), but Sen. Graham makes the case in this interview that there is no evidence the document is a fake. He invites Comey to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee to explain...
For those interested in the Sessions hearing, the post below is still active. By my decree!
I mean, feel free to comment wherever you like about whatever, but, just saying, the fact that this is the top post doesn't mean that Sessions hearing related comments have to go here.
