The Morning Report 5/19/17
Good morning, kids. What a friggin' rollercoaster of a week. I want to go out on a limb and end it on a cautiously optimistic note. If you pull back from the media shitstorm of deception and outright bald-faced lies, it seems that a significant number of Americans are not falling for it. Even the leaders on the left, from the relatively sane like Feinstein to the batshit crazy like Waters have publicly stated that there is zero evidence of Russian/Trump collusion, Flynn guilt and whatever else the President is being smeared with: NB there are no actual, specific charges, merely "insinuendos" as Don Logan malaproped. Two anecdotal items in today's lineup hint at this: the record-breaking haul PDT's fundraising effort took in and the story about the Democrats telling people to cool it with the impeachment talk. Really? Could it be your internal polling shows that going forward with this insanity will wipe you out politically in '18 and '20? Whatever the Dems and their Media Overlords do or say, Rush had the best strategery for the President IMHO:
I think now, folks, there is a golden opportunity. I don't know how big an opportunity, but it's an opportunity. It's an opening. Since they've announced this stupid special counsel investigation, just head full speed down the road of the domestic agenda. Let's get going on repealing Obamacare. And use the force of Trump's personality and his victory to get Republicans in Congress signed up and doing this. Ditto on tax reform. The one thing - the one thing that's gonna provide Trump some insurance here is actually making America great again, is actually improving the circumstances. It's gonna be hard, because the Republicans don't want to do it!
And that has always been the caveat. From Jeff Sessions recusal to Rosenstein's appointing of a special counsel (NOT prosecutor, it should be noted) to the hemming, hawing and silence from the GOP on this sham of a mockery of two jokes of a sham, that party's acquiescence to the narrative (including cheering on Joe Lieberman to head the FBI [F**k that!]) is the greatest threat to the President's agenda and his political survival. Always was and always will be. It is up to Donald Trump and no one else to use the skills and savvy he has that got him elected to sidestep the Establishment and get the agenda rammed home. Starting now.
Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.
