Ace of Spades Pet Thread
Hello!!!
Welcome to the almost world famous Ace of Spades Pet Thread. This is the place we celebrate creatures large and small. We appreciate you stopping by. Grab a beverage and cuddle up. Cheers!!
A Little of This. A Little of That.
The Pet Thread has a remarkable audience. Once again this is demonstrated by the number of submissions which come flowing in.
From a regular Moron, youmeandtheafter.com A feel good story for the Pet Thread. Thank you.
From a feel good story to a sad story, Good-bye Patrick h/t Hank Curmudgeon
Animal videos are always fun. Here is a fun video with a Cockatoo. h/t CaliGirl.
For the pet owner who has everything. We aren't quite sure why a pet owner would want one of these. Medical reasons? Lazy? Your thoughts?
From our pal, Hrothgar Cute photos that bring a smile.

Meet The PetMorons
Our first pet story today:
I had to let go of my best friend this morning. She was with me for almost 13 years. This is when she was a young girl, at the beach, waiting for me to throw the ball, throw the ball, throw the ball. Her name was Toblerone. I still love her so much.
Lee (long time lurker)
So sorry to hear about your loss.
Our next pet is a cutie, meet Sunny.
This is my 1.5 year old foster pup Sunny (I foster for a Pit Bull rescue. Most are abused dogs or shelter dogs we saved from being euthanized). She enjoys popcorn, sausage pizza, and belly rubs. And pooping. Mostly that.
I'm a longtime lurker who is registered under "rabidsquirrel".
Royce submitted this photo.
Rawley, the most interesting dog in the world.
I don't have a nickname or posting account on Ace of Spades HQ, so I guess I'm "Just-Another-Lurker", but I really enjoy the pet posts and I wanted to share a couple of my favorite pictures of my dog.
Magee (pronounced Maggie) will be 16 years old this July. My wife and I adopted her from the pound in late September, 2001. She is almost deaf and spends most of her time in one of her various beds scattered around the house. I tell friends she is the best dog I have ever owned and the most expensive $10 pound puppy I ever bought. But our home wouldn't be the same without her. Magee's favorite thing is when the weather is nice, we leave the glass sliding door open a bit so she can come and go as she pleases. She loves going in and out for some reason! She's slowed down a step or two over the years, but she's a great dog and we can only hope to give her as good a life as she's has given us.
2 photos submitted by Weasel.
The original WeaselCat - 17 years old and doing well. And here is a pic of WeaselCat v2 surveying things from her command position on the couch.
Working dogs submitted by Vitigator.
Thanks again for the pet thread. I always look forward to it every week. I can't remember if I ever sent a pic of my farm labor or not so here they are. This this a photo of my sheep dogs and "their" little flock. Sophie (left) is a Great Pyrenees and Gibbs (right) is half Pyrenees and half Anatolian Shepherd. The are working dogs but very much loved and part of our family. The sheep are Babydoll Southdowns and are also pets, and yes they all have names and unique personalities. They earn their keep around here by mowing/weeding a small vineyard in the early spring and after harvest. The dogs handle predator control (mostly coyotes) and also scare the bejeebers out of anyone dumb enough to come through the gate uninvited...
Last, but not least this weekend is this photo from Victoria.
Heard the cat pictures were a bit sparse so I decided to send in another picture, and a better view, of Smokey and Boots. My daughter thinks this would make a great album cover.
