Marines On the Ground in Syria, to Fire Artillery In the Siege of Raqqa

I have mixed feelings about this, but... sure would be nice to flatten Raqqa and kill the rats as they flee the wreckage.

As Jane D'Oh says, God keep them safe.

And training and big guns keep them lethal.

A detachment of U.S Marines arrived in Syria outside the ISIS de-facto capital of Raqqa, a U.S. defense official confirmed Wednesday to Fox News.

The Pentagon is not publically [sic -- and I always write that first before autocorrect tells me its wrong] confirming the move, citing operational security.

The recent deployment is expected to be discussed Thursday when the head of U.S. Central Command, Gen. Joe Votel, the top US general responsible for American forces in the Middle East, appears before Congress to testify on the ISIS fight.
