Open Thread: Democrat Debate
Update! This debate won't even mention the Paris attacks, barely! CBS proposed changing the format to discuss that more, and Sanders objected:
They are asking about it, but it seems like they will not be discussing it much.
...
Actually this is just an open thread, but if you are interested, I wanted to remind you it's on at 9 pm Eastern, on CBS.
This article, which I frankly didn't bother reading much of, lays out six things to watch for in tonight's debate. Or five. Or seven. Like I said, I really didn't bother.
The fresh attacks in Paris have turned this debate -- which the DNC has scheduled for Saturday night so you don't watch it (that's how confident they have that America Loves Hillary (TM)) -- into a rather more compelling thing than Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and Hillary Clinton schemed to have it.
Eli Lake and Josh Rogen suggest some useful questions for Grandma, Grandpa, and Little Marty, though it seems doubtful CBS News, of all people, will want to pick at Democrat scabs.
Tough issues, wedge issues, questions that are problematic for a party, as they tend to divide one faction in that party from another, or the party as a whole from the independents -- such questions are for Republicans only. Democrats are to only be offered a chance to paper over the rifts.
Oh: Time Magazine has a story up that the Paris attacks upend one of the political parties.
The Republicans, that is.
They forgot completely about the Democrat debate tonight, so I guess -- Kudios, DWS!
