Last Sunday was 55 outside ergo why there wasn't a thread, too busy being outside.
My perpetual sports game of the year is coming out on Friday (if you pre-order). If it wasn't for Konami's Nippon Professional Baseball series, Pro Yakyū Spirits, this would be the only baseball game you need in your life each year.
Technically it comes out on the 23rd but if you pre-order, you get it a few days early (Friday). If you dig stats or love the GM side of baseball games, this long running series is here for you. Like how people nerd out on Football Manager, I nerd out on OOTP. As a Brewers fan, the only way they will make it to the World Series is when I'm in charge (FU Melvin).
This year is the first game to have an actual MLB license. Now there isn't much out of it as it's always only taken a minute to plop in team logos but this does open the game up to a wider market.
Run ya $40 and at least to me, it's the best the return a time/money ratio (l put in almost a good 500 hours each year)

NEWS
• Ed Boon continues to stunt cast for the Mortal Kombat games, this time Jason Vorhees in MKX
Like the other 250K+ people, I bought Cities Skylines, the new city management game by the team behind the Cities in Motion series. It's not bad though like the Cities in Motion games, it suffers from not really being an actual city management game but rather a road building game. With the added caveat of being severely punished for not having every intersection being a roundabout (which I personally loath) which is even furthered hampered by a very bad highway editor. You also can't shake the feeling that you're back playing EVE as Skylines has a UI that makes you dive through menus which are complicated just for the sake of being complicated. That being said, I paid $21 for my copy and for that price, it would be hard for me to not get my money out of playing this.
Also been playing Card Crawl on my iPad. Think Hand of Fate but without as much randomness. It's simple enough, you raid a dungeon with a shuffled 52 card deck made up of a mix of weapons, armor, potions, powers and monsters. Other than your power cards, the deck is the same game to game with a strong emphasis on card counting. I fully expect it to hit the point where it falls off a cliff into boredom but for $3, I've already gotten my money's worth out of it as it makes for a nice time killer.

NEW RELEASES
Actually a few releases this week of note.
Battlefield Hardline (PC, Ps3, PS4, 360, XBO) - Visceral (Dead Space series) is taking stab at making a side game in the Battlefield series. After 13 years, the franchise is finally getting an entry dealing with cops & robbers. I personally haven't been a fan of the betas as it's felt like a bad B4 expansion without the luxury of at least being a pretty game. But at least this game can't release being as broken as Battlefield 3 and 4, right? Please?
Final Fantasy Type-0 (PS3, PS4, 360, XBO) - Type-0 is finally coming to the West. When it was released for the PSP, it got a lot of positive reviews (so did FFXIII but we're supposed to hand wave that away). And as an added bonus, they're throwing in a demo for the upcoming FFXV. Wish they weren't charging their Square Enix tax on a remake but I can't say that I won't pick it up.
Bladestorm: Nightmare Edition (PS4, XBO) - This overlooked 360/PS3 gem is getting the "remaster" treatment. I really liked this one, it was a nice blend of Kessen and Dynasty Warriors. Not as deep strategically as say, the Kingdom Under Fire nor is the beat'em up aspects as good as Ninety Nine Nights but yet still a nice blend between the two.
