Overnight Open Thread (3 Oct 2014)

Could Ebola virus become 'bioterrorist threat'? Um, yes. Our response in Dallas does not give me a warm and fuzzy. The lack of engagement on restricting travel and our current protocols make it fairly easy as Ace said earlier today to have infected folks arrive via commercial travel means. No need to detonate a so-called dirty viral bomb. Just infect your suicide bomber types with the virus and get them over here before they exhibit symptoms and then they roam whatever city they are in. Fear and panic take over. Mission accomplished for the bad guys.

Now what to do with idiotic rich folk in L.A. who don't vaccinate their children?

vaccination rates in some areas, particularly Waldorf Schools are much lower than vaccination rates in Liberia

How To Handle Ebola

VA Priorities

VA patients do without PJ's, sheets, and toothbrushes, yet spend millions on Canadian furniture, flat screen TV's and solar. Still have faith your government will handle Ebola? We can't even do the easy stuff like take care of our vets.

According to the VA, the department spent $74,412 on 24 flat screen TVs for "patient/employee information" - one 50 inches wide and the others 42 inches. The furniture cost $134,082 and the solar project was approximately $3 million.

Shreveport's Overton Brooks VA Medical Center was built in 1950 and its linens look like they've been around just as long. Sheets and blankets often have holes or are threadbare. Pajamas are missing buttons or snaps and are ripped. But patients who get even these items are the lucky ones.

Operation Name That Mission

We still don't have a name for the on-going operations in Syria and Iraq. Cluster fcuk would suffice but probably wouldn't be allowed. How about Operation Ongoing Mulligan?

Which State To Boot Out?

Well, according to this Fox News Poll, California is the overwhelming favorite to get the boot out of the Union. I would've included D.C. for this poll. That would be my number one choice.

Hidden Bra Cam

Well, what did you expect when you have a good lookin' lady with her tata support device and cleavage showing? Of course guys are gonna look. Save the tata's but don't look at 'em.
