So, Wolf Blitzer asked the spokesman if he believed this or would retract his claim, and the spokesman claimed something about the Jews taking his remarks out of context.

The context of his remarks were "Jews used to kill non-Jews to use their blood for their holy matzhoh crackers."

You can see how that can be distorted.

He refuses to repudiate it, though. He just keeps babbling.

Meanwhile, Israel and Hamas have agreed to a new three-day cease-fire, to begin 8am on Tuesday.

The world waits to see if Hamas will honor it through the critical second hour this time.

You will also not be surprised to hear that France has sharpened its condemnations of Israel, and is now speaking of the need for the "international community" to "impose" a cease-fire on the warring parties, by which they mostly mean Israel.
