Todd Akin To Announce He's Leeched, Ready, and Rested, And Enthusiastic To "Lose This Thing On Behalf of the American People"
Coming up in a few minutes, scheduled for 5:15 ET. I don't know if Fox is covering it, but I turned to MSNBC and they've got their cameras ready!
He's changed his FaceBook status to say he's "beaten the party bosses" or something, and advance word is that he'll play the sympathy card by noting the death threats he's received (and rape suggestions directed at his wife).
That's terrible stuff, of course. And it's also no reason to support someone for Senate.
I was just joking that when you have nothing to say you pop off with something counterintuitive and therefore "grabby," even if not true. Dick Morris is claiming the Akin story is a "big plus" for Romney, because the story is now that responsible leaders of the party are repudiating him.
I don't believe that
For example, Romney just fell behind Obama in Missouri, per Rasmussen.
Oh My Goodness: It was a 30 second press conference, in which Todd Akin shifted his campaign to talking about economics/regulation/big government.
So, it turns out he's not going to be the guy standing on principle making his case on No-Exceptions after all.
So, after all this talk of principle, he's now shifting gears to just try to win.
And we should stick with him, even though he's radioactive, because... he's going to be avoiding the topic that got him into trouble.
Which is what a "RINO" would do. But let's stick with him, even though he won't in fact be making the case America Needs to Hear, because... he's just so special or something.
Gutless.
Punk.
Standing on Principle
It's what we do until we slip < 40%.
