A new Amish settlement is founded in the United States nearly once a month, according to a new census, which also found that more than 60 percent of all existing Amish communities sprang up after 1990.
"The Amish are one of the fastest-growing religious groups in North America," Ohio State researcher Joseph Donnermeyer, who led the census project, said in a statement. "They're doubling their population about every 21 to 22 years, primarily because they produce large families and the vast majority of daughters and sons remain in the community as adults baptized into the faith, starting their own families and sustaining their religious beliefs and practices."
Die Hard 5
I'm starting to think this director does not understand some of the draw to the Die Hard flicks. Fifth 'Die Hard' Will Be Even More Joyless Than You Thought. Um, what's the point of calling it Die Hard if you're not gonna have wisecracks or McClanisms?
Here's a video of John McClane's best lines.
Traffic Deaths
With the MSM fixated on guns now (funny how Fast and Furious never seemed to get the MSM's attention), you might've missed some news on something that actually has a higher chance of occurring to you. U.S. Traffic Deaths Jump 13.5 Percent In 2012.
NHTSA said it estimates 7,630 people died in vehicle crashes in the first three months, up from 6,720 in the first quarter of 2011.
The increase would end a steady decline in U.S. road deaths over the last seven years.
Prohibiting the DoD from pursuing cost-competitive alternatives severely limits our ability to reduce reliance on fossil fuels sourced from outwardly hostile parts of the world. It is a policy position that is bad for energy security and bad for national security. As we continue the debate in Congress and across the nation about America’s energy future, let’s pursue all the options that can achieve greater energy security for our country, and not allow the conversation to be sidetracked by oversimplifying or misstating the facts.
Funny, no mention of tapping our domestic potential. And it would be cheaper and more beneficial to the economy than chasing the green biofuel boondoggle.
War On Drugs
No surprise. Venezuela Is Cocaine Hub Despite Its Claims. Too bad it really isn't a war on drugs. Otherwise, it would be way too easy to just shoot down the targets. I'm just gonna blame Hollywood and their coke appetites for causing all this trouble in the world.
And because the F-35 is gonna need something to drop, the Air Force Research Laboratory has issued two contracts for a High Velocity Penetrating Weapon.
