Feminists and Media Scolds Continue Melting Down Over Sydney Sweeney

Thousands of Instagram users have smashed the "unfollow" button on Sydney Sweeney's profile after the actress was featured in and promoted a controversial sports-betting app in which she appears nude with sports equipment obscuring parts of her anatomy.

Last Wednesday, Sweeney shared the ad promoting sports-prediction market app Novig on Instagram -- where it has racked up 1.1 million likes so far. In the 60-second ad, the "Euphoria" star appears fully or partially nude, posing with a variety of sports equipment like footballs, basketballs, a soccer ball and a hockey net.

Since hitting the internet, the ad has triggered a negative reaction among those objecting to its sexualization of women in sports. Several women Olympic athletes have weighed in on the Sweeney ad, including Ariarne Titmus, a four-time Olympic gold medal swimmer from Australia, who wrote in a post: "I can't describe how infuriated I feel when I watch this. ... How do we live in a world where monetising a woman's body and sexualising women's sport is still a thing?"

In the three days after the ad dropped, Sweeney's Instagram followers ticked up by 50,000. But on Sunday, she lost 136,848 -- and on Monday, another 68,000 have unfollowed her, according to data from social-media analytics firm Social Blade. That said, the more than 200,000 IG followers Sweeney lost in that time frame is a drop in the bucket, representing less than 1% of her more than 25 million followers.

Amid the backlash, Sweeney on Sunday posted a series of photos and videos from the Novig ad on Instagram, with the caption, "it's gamedayyy @novig 
#novigpartner." Sweeney also appeared to respond to the negative commentary by posting a series of covers from the ESPN Body Issue, which features multiple naked athletes, on Instagram Stories.

So yes, let's look at the covers from the Sports Illustrated "Body Issues," which have always been celebrated by left-wing feminist AWFULs as "empowering" to female athletes.

Here's the deal: Sweeney is a very attractive woman. She's a "sex symbol", whether she wants the title or not. She's is considered desirable by men all over this world. Women get jealous of women like her for a multitude of reasons, but mainly because they don't look like her or like her type.

She modeled for a gambling site. Men predominantly occupy gambling/sports gambling sites. If you want to attract men, it is a strategy as old as time to put an attractive face in the advertisement that is geared towards men. That's just common sense.

Female athletes shouldn't have issues because it's not like she's on the cover/have a spread in ESPN magazine , Sports Illustrated, or some other sports-related content. They generally will use female athletes. But as you can see below, it's not like most female athletes have the same appeal as a Sydney Sweeney.

This is just typical marketing strategy and yet somehow, women are far more outraged by Sweeney than Lindsay Clancy. Make that make sense.

It's almost as if -- now hear me out, this is going to sound crazy -- leftwing women love when not-very-attractive women pose naked because it makes them feel "represented" to see other not-very-attractive women LARPing as sex symbols, but then get angry, jealous, and vag-hurt when an actual sex symbol does the same thing.

Other women grossly sexualizing themselves are given a pass because they cultivate gay fans which is the ultimate Media Hall Pass.

It's why Sydney Sweeney and Inde Navarrette get hate no matter what they do. Because they like men.

I have my own mild objections to the ad campaign. First of all, I'll admit what these nasty scolds won't and say that part of my objection is due to simple prudery and a preference for modesty. My preference is for covert sexiness rather than in-your-face over sexiness, at least in public. I like when a woman is riding that line between modest and sexy so she can claim "Ooops, it was an accident, I had no idea that when I leaned over I showed a flash of cleavage."

My other mild objection is about attention-getting. The media and media-personalities are constantly demanding the attention of each of us. I prefer these demands to be made more subtly. Yes, Sydney Sweeney has an amazing body but I would like my own Male Gaze to decide when to gaze.

But feminists have decided that attractive women are not allowed to show they are attractive in public because of Equity. Unattractive women do not draw positive attention in public, and therefore attractive women should be hated, shamed, and clucked to death by angry hens in the name of Sexual Equity. If we can't all be gorgeous Sex Symbols, than nobody can.

Note how they never admit that they're engaging in the ancient art of female sabotage/smear-campaigning against rivals they're sexually jealous of. They always have to pretend their obvious middle-school sexual jealousy is actually some high-minded campaign for Women's Empowerment.

I'm just so sick of it. I'm sick of the lying, I'm sick of the posturing, and I'm sick of hatefully bitter nasty low-IQ head-cases telling me they are paragons of virtue and are only acting repulsively for The Greater Good.
