Oh good! Another plan to pass voter ID laws! This time it's going to work! Really...promise! Just send $25 to the RNC to keep the Republican Party fighting against the Democrats!

The problem is glaringly obvious, and one that the corporate wing of the GOP is unwilling to admit...because it is part of the problem.

The fight isn't against the Democrats. The fight is against the anti-Trump, pro-business faction within the Republican party that is perfectly content to continue on the current road to ruin by allowing farcically corrupt elections in America. As long as our elections keep electing pro-illegal-immigrant Democrats (and Republicans) the Chamber of Commerce money will continue to flow, the Bourbon and lobster will continue at the best cocktail parties, and America will keep sliding into third-world hell. But that's fine with them, because all of that sweet cheap illegal labor will be available to their big donors!

Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., is now pushing Republicans to pass the bill's main mandates via the budget reconciliation process, which allows the party in power to pass sweeping fiscal policy without input from the minority due to its sidelining of the Senate filibuster. Rep. Bryan Steil, R-Wis., chairman of the Committee on House Administration, is tasked with overseeing how that part of the bill gets done.

"I'd rather pass the SAVE America Act. But recognizing that the Senate might not be able to get that done with the 60-vote threshold, let's leverage the parliamentary procedure, bring that threshold down to 50, and get some really commonsense reforms done," Steil told Fox News Digital in an interview. "I've been having great conversations with my colleagues in the administration as well as the Senate."

Thune and the other corporatist whores are the problem, and they are embedded into the Republican Party far too deeply for them to be sidelined by a procedural play. That they are rejecting a bill that has the support of the vast majority of Americans is shocking in and of itself, but the fact that they are unrepentant makes it worse. They are pissing on us and gleefully telling us that it is raining!

What can be done about this? Obviously Thune and anyone who supports him must go. At the very least, he must be challenged for Majority Leader. Senator Rick Scott has already announced that he has not committed to voting for Thune again, so there are cracks in the collegiality of the Senate. And that's a good start, but an aggressive campaign against Thune is overdue. Perhaps President Trump should announce that if Thune doesn't support voting security that he will actively campaign against him in 2028. Marginalize him, mock him, ridicule him for subverting the will of the American people...but do not allow the status quo to continue. This is too important to be held up by a corporate hack in a nice suit, and that's all Thune is!
