Happy Tuesday.
Ace wrote about the WaPo piece yesterday revealing that it was President Obama, and not Speaker Boehner, who blew up the debt talks, contrary to the talking points of both the Democrats and some of Boehner's "allies." Jim Pethokoukis notes that the true story also busts the accusation that Boehner pushed an $800 billion tax hike.
A group of students "disguised as penguins" broke into and vandalized a Texas highschool as a senior prank. Kids these days.
Politico, in what looks to be a series, presents the "hard truths" of ObamaCare. The summary:
(1) Some people won’t get to keep the coverage they like;
(2) Costs aren’t going to go down;
(3) It’s just a guess that the law is going to pay for itself;
(4) “The more they know, the more they’ll like it” isn’t happening.
Coincidentally, those four things are exactly what critics of the law said would happen.
John Carter is set to lose Disney about $200 million after insanely bad marketing and lukewarm reviews. After Disney's not-entirely-irrational fear of letting audiences know the film is set on Mars, they were left with the completely bland title "John Carter," which appeared to be about a man who runs around shirtless with CGI characters.
Markets in everything. Google started to charge websites for the use of Google Maps. Websites found new map services.
Companies and government agencies are now routinely asking job applicants for their Facebook usernames and passwords. Something to be aware of.
