Lindsay Lohan is broke and can't afford $53K for court ordered Betty Ford rehab stay

She claims she's broke.

...The [probation] report says: 'She indicates she can not afford to continue to pay for the treatment program and she needs to work...

Famous Hollywood personalities apparently use the Lohan Scale™ of brokeness, which seems to be relative, flexible, and fluid. In her case, there's at least one outfit claiming she has a net worth of ~$17M. WikiAnswers claims she's in debt to the tune of around $600K though and says the Daily Mail claims her net worth to be $90M. The surest measure of brokeness would be if AMEX had canceled her black card and suggested she take her oh so valuable business elsewhere.

Obviously, one can burn through a lot of coin living a Hollywood lifestyle on a panhandlers income (does anyone remember the last paying gig she had? I don't), while supporting a major substance abuse habit, and picking up the tab for a pack of remora that surround and enable her.

Maybe she should simply do what the little people do when they run into a jam and need money - sell some of your shit, downsize your abode, cut back on the partying and stay home more, eat cheaper food, or in her case bed some wealthier suckers.
