AP has called it for Sestak.

Sestak had a devastating ad that helped to dump the old SOB.

Not so much Arlen, not so much.

I wanted Specter to win because I think Toomey would have had an easier time beating him than Sestak but I'm plenty happy the bastard is gone. He was one of the worst Senators in history.

As I wrote when Specter announced his party change.

Let's not forget something very important....Arlen Specter is a hack. Not because he's not conservative enough for me, that's his choice. It's that he claims to be a paragon of virtue, the man who will do the right thing ideology be damned. Well, at the first chance he might lose his precious Senate seat he bolts to save his wrinkly old ass.

Specter is simply a morally bankrupt and cowardly man.

In the end the old guy sold himself and all he got was...well, he didn't get anything.

Nice job by Obama and Reid to get their money's worth out of their rental of what passes for Specter's soul.

9:34 eastern: Rick Santorum was just on FNC says the early lead for Critz is from Johnstown (who owns the Chiefs?) which is where he and Murtha are from. Thins should start looking up for Burns soon but it will be close. Very close.

Arkansas results (scroll down). No one expects Lincoln to lose tonight, the question is can she get over 50% and avoid a run off with the more liberal Lt. Governor.

10:00 eastern- PA 12 ain't happening. Burns is down by 18. It's the district that Republicans keep thinking they have a chance to pick up and then it never happens. Not even close.

Well, the Kentucky race didn't provide a lot of suspense, maybe PA Dems will.

The polls are now closed and a Democrat source tells FNC's Major Garrett that he expects the special election in PA-12 will come down to a few hundred votes.

I know a lot of folks want to see Arlen Sepcter go down in flames tonight but I think that's putting the personal ahead of business.

Sestak is going to be a tougher fight for Pat Toomey. I want Specter to come out of this battered to hell. Let Toomey administer the Coup de grâce in November.

In the special election to replace the late and lamented (by his family at least) John Murtha everyone is going to read something in to it. The Democratic spin on it is if they can hold this district (the only one to vote for Kerry in '04 and McCain in '08...damn bitter clingers), then that means reports of the death of the House Democratic majority are premature.

We'll see.

Not entirely related but good enough...Chris Matthews is absolutely killing Blumenthal for lying about his Vietnam service. He just called him "morally dead weight". Good for Matthews.
