The Big Sandy Machine Gun Shoot 2010
Twice a year MG Shooters of AZ sponsors the Big Sandy Shoot for 3 days in the beautiful Arizona desert. The firing line in a quarter-mile long and anything that shoots, fires, cycles, detonates, or just blows up good is welcome. It's a perfect opportunity to show off your machine guns, cannons, RPGs, and flame throwers. This year's shoot will take place on Mar 26-28 so get your weaponry ready.
Captain Phil Harris - RIP
Capt. Phil, one of the stars of 'Deadliest Catch', died last night after suffering a stroke a few weeks ago while unloading crab. His family was at his side. He was just 53.
Also former Texas congressman Charlie Wilson of 'Charlie Wilson's War' has died.
Another Finnish WWII Movie
Here's some footage from Tali-Ihantala which came out back in 2007. Nicely they didn't try and shoehorn a romantic subplot into it. But unfortunately there's not yet an English-subtitle version.
From the Making-Airflight-Even-More-Difficult Dept: Loose batteries now banned from checked baggage
So now loose alkaline and NiMH batteries in addition to the already banned LiON batteries would be forbidden from checked bags. And large shipments of ipods or laptops might be subject to HazMat treatment.
Also American Airlines will now start charging $8 for blankets and pillows. And that's in addition to the $25 they charge for checking a bag each way.
