Douche of Next Week- Uncle Jimbo.
Why wait for the passage of time, when, to quote our founding fathers, some truths are held to be self-evident?
Y'know, Uncle Jimbo, this ain't your blog. It isn't my blog. It isn't LauraW's, Gabe's, Dave in Texas's, Slublog's, Russ's or DrewM's blog.
It's Ace's.
Like the other co-bloggers, you are but a guest in the house that Ace built. Whatever you post, or I post, or anybody else posts will, fairly or unfairly, reflect upon Ace or put him in the position of having to account for it.
Just something to consider when you decide to go off on a rant against someone who has established himself as a long time supporter of both Ace's blog and the ideas expressed within it.
But, then, you don't have to worry about the ramifications of alienating Ace's readers, friends, networking contacts, or blog allies, do you?
After all, you can always go back to Blackfive. You have the luxury of being able to shit here as much as you like without having to worry about it poisoning your primary water supply, don't you? Who cares if Ace has to swallow what you left behind, right?
I guess it's too much to hope that you would have the manners or the forethought to realize that.
Now, I could've been a decent guy, I suppose. I could have quietly sent you an e-mail behind the scenes to express my opinion of your latest post.
But, since you obviously can't be bothered to express the same courtesy to avowed "friends of the blog", I guess, like you, I just couldn't be bothered.
Similarly, I could've found a lot of different ways to make an arguably meritorious point, without coming off like a complete dick.
Again, like you, I just couldn't be bothered to do this either. But then, you aren't in much of a position to complain about being publicly called out, are you?
You know, for someone who claims to be an adept military mind, you do seem to have trouble grasping the concepts of "friendly fire" and "collateral damage." The last I heard, both concepts are celebrated primarily for their absence. After watching you in action, I guess I'll have to revisit the textbooks to make sure I'm still up to speed on the concepts.
I will note, though, that for an avowed pacifist, you sure seem to have a lot of anger in you. You might want to have that checked. Perhaps a year in Canada would allow you to take an "operational break" so you could "rest and refit." I am sure that the operations here could successfully continue in your absence, and that you would be a stronger member of the HQ upon your return.
I suggest that to you, because my experiences in DC have shown me that "narcissistic runts" are typically the last to consider the ramification of their actions upon others, or to consider that if there is a problem it may, in fact, lie within them.
Just a little free advice. It's probably not worth much (after all, you do need to consider the source!) but, hey, I'm a giver. And if our positions were reversed, I
would ask you to do the same to me.
Unless, like your apparent ideas of friendly fire and collateral damage, the command to "do unto others as you would have others do unto you" is now held by the brightest minds as simply an arbitrary goal.
In which case, I really must catch up on my reading.
